"We're about 40 minutes out from home base, sir." The pilot said. I groaned. 40 more minutes of this torture. I hung my head in my hands. Why couldn't we just take a car? On the bright side I was sitting next to Steve Rogers. I had helped him recover from when he woke up from the ice. We had gotten pretty close since then. He was still a little awkward around me though. "So this Dr. Banner was trying to replicate the serum they used on me?" He asked. He was looking at a tablet with Dr. Banner's file on it. "A lot of people were. You were the world's first superhero." He replied. "Banner thought gamma radiation was the key to unlocking Erskine's original formula." I could hear the sound of the Hulk getting attacked by General Ross' army attacking him. "Didn't really go his way, did it?" I laughed nervously as we hit more turbulence and looked up at Phil and Steve. "Not so much." I said. "When he's not that thing, though, the guy's like a Steven Hawking." He said. Steve looked at him puzzled. "He's like a smart person." He said. "I gotta say, it's an honor to meet you, officially. I've sort of met you. I mean, I watched you while you were sleeping." He said. Oh way to fangirl Phil. "I mean, I was present while you were unconscious from the ice. You know, it's really just a huge honor to have you on board this..." He trailed off. "I hope I'm the man for the job." Steve said. I couldn't believe that he was doubting himself. "Oh you are. Absolutely." Coulson replied. "We made some modifications to the uniform. I had a little design input." He said sucking up. "The uniform? Aren't the stars and stripes a little old-fashioned?" He asked. I personally liked the uniform. I love the color blue. "With everything that's happening, and things that are about to come to light, people might just need a little old fashioned." I said.

We landed about twenty minutes later. I groaned. We were landing on the heli-carrier. I all but ran off the jet. Of course doing so I tripped. Steve caught me before I hit the ground. "You still that terrified of heights." He asked. We had discussed fears in one of our ah discussions. "That's our Jessi." A voice said. "Tasha!". I yelled I gave her a hug. She and Clint were the only ones who were allowed to call me that. They were the only ones who dared to. "Agent Romanoff, Captain Rogers," Phil said trying to be the sophisticated one. "Ma'am." Steve said. "Hi." She replied. She turned to Coulson. "They need you on the bridge. They're starting to face trace." She said. "See you there." He walked off. "It was quite the buzz around here, finding you in the ice. I thought Coulson was gonna swoon." She said. I laughed making a mental note to tell her about the plane ride. "Did he ask you to sign his Captain America trading cards yet?" She asked. "Trading cards?" He asked. "They're vintage. He's very proud." We saw Bruce Banner looking at a jet. "Dr. Banner!' Steve called out. He walked over to us. "Yeah hi. They told me you'd be coming." Dr. Banner said shaking Steve's hand. "Word is you can find the cube." He said. Dr. Banner looked warily around. "Is that the only word on me?" He asked expecting us to judge him. "Only word I care about." Steve said. I was really proud of Steve at that moment. His true colors showed. "Is must be strange for you. All of this." Dr. Banner said gesturing around. "Well this is actually kind of familiar." Steve said. It looked like an army base in my opinion. "Gentleman, you might want to step inside in a minute. It's going to get a little hard to breathe." She smirked at me. Oh no. The carrier was groaning and moving. It was starting to get hard to breathe. Not because of the air pressure. "Is this a submarine?" Steve asked."Really? They want me in a submerged, pressurized, metal container?" Dr. Banner said. I wish it was a submarine. They walked to the edge to get a better look. "Don't go near the edge!" I yelled out of habit. People tend not to be near me around edges. I yell at them to step away. They turned and looked at me. Dr. Banner looked st Steve and raised his eyebrows. Steve shrugged and they turned around.

Tash grabbed my arm and dragged me away inside. "You have got to get over the whole fear of heights thing Jessi! Where did it even come from?" I froze. I was not going to talk about that day yet. I wasn't ready. Tasha pulled me to the control room. The boys walked in a few minutes later. Tash turned to me a serious look on her face. "What happened are we crashing? Is Fury pissed? Are you and Clint together?" I asked. She hit me on the arm. "No! Banner just checked you out!" She squealed. Not good. I was kind of crushing on Stark.
