"Scarlett....Scarlett honey wake up..."

I groaned, my eyes fluttering open as I rolled over to see my mom's smiling face look down at me. "I'm going to work honey. Sam's up but Michael's still asleep." She said, me rubbing my eyes as she gently ruffled my hair. "I'll see you later." She said, me nodding as I stopped rubbing my eyes, looking up at her and smiling lightly. "Bye mom." I said, her smiling lightly before kissing the top of my head and leaving the room. I sighed, slowly sitting up before quickly getting ready, making my way downstairs and into the kitchen where Sam was stood, bags under his eyes where he'd clearly had lack of sleep from the events of last night. "Morning."
"Morning." I said, taking a carton of orange juice from the fridge before taking a sip, Sam speaking up. "I thought we could go and see the Frog brothers today. They'll know what to do."
"It's worth a try..." I said, my heart fluttering slightly at the thought of Edgar.

Before long we had left the house and had came to the comic store, which was still boarded up and dark. "They should be open...looks like we're going to have to wait..." Sam said, me rolling my eyes as I knocked on the boards, his eyes wide. "Scarlett-"

"Ed!? Alan!? You there?!" I called, listening for a moment as I heard rustling before the boards slowly lifted, a smirking Edgar stood behind them. "The sign says that we don't open till 9-"

"Special guests." I said, him smirking before stepping aside, letting me and Sam into the dimly lit store. "Hey Alan! They're here!" He exclaimed, Sam walking towards Alan who had just walked out from the back of the store, Edgar turning to me with a look of concern lacing his face. "Anything new on your brother?" Edgar asked, me slowly shaking my head as he sighed, gently rubbing my arm. "We'll sort something." He whispered, me giving him a weak smile as Alan and Sam walked towards us. "He's one of them. There's nothing we can do-"

"No there has to be something." I said, Alan shaking his head as Sam grabbed the vampire comic, quickly flicking through it. "No! If Michaels a vampire, he's only half."
"Then how do we turn him back?"
"It says something here about the head vampire. Kill them and all half vampires turn back to normal." Sam said, reading the magazine as Alan and Edgar walked behind the counter, Alan looking at Sam. "Well does your brother know who the head vampires is?"
"I don't think so..." Sam said, Alan rolling his eyes as I frowned, thinking for a moment. "It shouldn't be that hard to figure out should it?"

"What about Max? I mean he only ever comes out at night...the dog that attacked mom this morning was his. And look at this." He said, slamming the comic onto the table, all of us peering down at it. "It says that vampires have to have a protector, someone that protects them in the day while there asleep."
"The hounds of hell..." I read, him nodding before slamming the comic shut. "Exactly! It's got to be him!" Sam exclaimed, me running my fingers through my curled hair as I groaned. "If we're wrong mom's going to skin us alive-"
"We can't be wrong! I don't see who else it could be Scar!" Sam exclaimed, waving his hands around as I sighed, resting my head against the table. "I'm too tired to cope with this..." I mumbled, Edgar chuckling before gently stroking my hair. "Well maybe you shouldn't have gone for a walk at 1 this morning-"
"You went for a walk!?" Sam exclaimed, my lifting my head up as he stared at me with wide eyes. "I needed to think-"
"Couldn't you have just sat in your room and thought!?"
"NO!" I yelled, him sighing as I rested my head in my hands. "We need to save Michael-"
"Like I haven't noticed." I said sarcastically, Edgar placing a hand on my shoulder. "We'll fix it...I've got an idea..." He said, all of us looking at him intently as we listened to his idea...

"Sammy I really don't think this is going to work..." I whispered, Sam sighing as he sat down on the ancient sofa beside me. "We've got to at least try..." He whispered back, me nodding my head as mom walked in, a beaming smile stretched across her face. "Come on! Get up! Max will be here any minute- Michael, please stay here, I want you to meet Max!" She exclaimed as Michael walked past, fastening his jacket. He mumbled a response, my mother sighing as she walked back into the kitchen, me quickly getting to my feet before running towards Michael, hugging him tightly. "Don't do anything stupid...and make sure you keep coming back..." I whispered, a lump in my throat as he sighed, wrapping his arms tightly around me. "Don't worry...I'll try my best..." He whispered, me chuckling slightly before letting him go, him opening the door to reveal Max stood there with a bunch of flowers. "Ah, you must be Michael, and you must be Scarlett." He said, my eyes narrowing as Michael scowled. "And you must be Max." He said, sarcasm dripping from his tongue as I smirked, hiding my mouth as Max held out a hand for Michael to shake, Michael ignoring it. "Well...you're the man of the house, I won't come in until you invite me." He said, slowly removing his hand as Michael continued to glare. "You're invited." He said before pushing past him, Max clearing his throat before turning back to me. "Looks like your brothers a bit tired-"
"No. He's only just woke up." I said coldly, him frowning at me as I turned on my heel, walking off back into the living room and sitting down on the sofa.

"Scarlett, Alan and Edgar are here." Sam said, me looking up to see the brothers walk in, me smiling slightly as I saw Edgar. "Evening boys." I said, standing back up and straightening out my top as Alan nodded to me, Edgar winking as I rolled my eyes, smiling lightly. "Come on." Sam said, Alan following him as I sighed, going to follow to. I felt Edgar grab my wrist, turning me back around to face him. "Are you ready?"

"Ready as I'll ever be...I suppose..." I said, him sighing as he wrapped his arms around me, hugging me tightly as I buried my head in his shoulder. "It'll be okay. I promise."
"My dad promised me that he'd never leave...and look what happened there..." I whispered, him gently letting me go, looking my dead in the eye. "I promise on my life Scarlett. You can trust me..." He whispered, me giving him a weak smile. "...I...I trust you..." I whispered, him smiling as he took my hand, giving it a light squeeze. "Come on doll, lets go kick butt..." He whispered, me smiling lightly before heading into the kitchen, Edgar following close behind...
