"We keep taking turns. Will we ever learn? When will we learn?
Oh spaces between us
Keep getting deeper
It's harder to reach you
Even though I try
Spaces between us
Hold all our secrets
Leaving us speechless
And I don't know why"

"Kevin, how many times do I have to tell you not to be SO OBVIOUS!" exclaimed Victoria.

"Excuse me, but if anyone is being obvious it's you!" Kevin replied.

"Oh, so now it's my fault. How wonderful it's always my fault. It isn't raining, oh don't worry it's all Victoria's fault, oh my I'm constipated, not to worry its Victoria's fault, Carlos is lost, that's alright we will all blame it on Victoria!" Victoria was about to go on, but Kevin interrupted her.

"Who's Carlos?"

"Nobody."

"Clearly, he is somebody otherwise you wouldn't have mentioned him."

"I already told you it's nobody, why can't you just take no for an answer!"

"I don't understand you, all I'm trying to do is help and all you're doing is yelling at me."

"Last time I checked, I never asked for your help!"

"Well whether you want it or not you're getting it! Maybe you should be grateful for once in your life."

"Excuse me! Are you seriously telling me I'm NOT grateful? Well Mr. Grateful, I will have you know that I am more grateful then you will ever be."

"Does the time you dumped a whole bag of Blueberry Flakes in the garbage count?"

"Did you really expect me to eat cereal, with spiders inside it?"

"Well... The spiders weren't real, they were plastic."

"They were still spiders, and besides that's not the point."

"Oh, yeah I forgot we were feeling sorry for ourselves, please do go on, I have unbelievable interest in it."

"Listen, I'm sorry Kev." Victoria sighed as she shut her eyes for a moment, before opening them again and continuing. "It's just, I feel like every time there even the tiniest reference to... well, you know what, it just gets me so paranoid and I feel like someone is going to figure it out."

"Yeah, I know I'm sorry as well." Kevin offered Victoria a smile, and realized she look a bit flustered. "I guess arguing isn't your strong point, seeing you get so red in the face." Kevin joked. Victoria didn't reply she was too busy arguing with her brain and veins.

"Veins do your job and suck back all the blood you poured into my cheeks!" Victoria thought to herself, wondering, why she had to flush every time he smirked!

"Earth to Tory." Kevin snapped his fingers in front of Victoria's face. Suddenly Victoria grabbed his hand. "What the-," Kevin looked startled. Victoria quickly let go.

"Oh cheese, I'm so sorry, you startled me." Victoria hurriedly said as Kevin laughed and they started walking when Kevin said,

"It's a good thing I know about Snak-pider (Kevin's and Victoria's word for S.P.I.E.S They got the idea from the things they hated, (or should I say fear...) and combined them. Spider for Victoria and snake for Kevin. Snak-pider!), or otherwise I would think you were trying to hold-. Um, never mind..." Kevin broke off. Victoria stopped and looked at Kevin.

"What would you think? That I, was trying to hold YOUR hand." Victoria asked enjoying the moment very much. "Man, do I love torturing him," she thought to herself grinning.

"Well—I just... I don't know—I..." Now it was Kevin's turn to be red in the face.

"Hey, first of all, I don't  want to hold anyone's hand, and second of all, even if I did hold yours, it's not like I bite you know." Victoria smiled mischievously, remembering the time she had one of her pet snakes in her sleeve and shook hands with Kevin, absolutely forgetting about Kevin's fear of snakes. The snake had slithered onto Kevin arm, and wouldn't come off. In the end they had to put it to sleep to pry it of poor petrified Kevin. Kevin also remembering the snake incident replied,

"I don't know Tory; you hands don't exactly have a fond memory." Kevin paused for a second to wonder why Victoria was trying not to grin and realized how 'odd' he sounded. "Yeah, that came out wrong."

"No kidding." They walked on for a while when Kevin suddenly brought Victoria to a stop.

"Hey, your head." Kevin moved Victoria's hair from her forehead and gingerly touched it.

"What about my head?" Victoria asked confused.

"There a cut and it's bleeding, it looks like an old wound, but it has been open again." After a moment of thought, Kevin spoke again. "That's why you did your hair like that didn't you? You got the cut in one of your 'assessments'. Am I right?" Kevin looked questioningly at Victoria.

"I... What happened was- " Victoria cut herself off before continuing with a sigh. "Yes you're right I did get it in one of the 'assessments', but I guess it opened up again when I bumped my head on the pole." Victoria realized Kevin looked a bit worried and hurried to reassure him. "It's just a small cut really; I accidentally got too close to a twirling blade and paid the price."

"Well, I guess you should get to close to tent poles either." Kevin joked but added on more seriously. "We need to put a bandage or something on that, it could get nasty, unattended."

"We?" Victoria was about to tease Kevin when she realized how close they were standing.

"Well, not 'we', we—I mean like you should, what I mean is--," Kevin looked at Victoria and was about to reply when he acknowledged the close proximity as well. Victoria never realized how truly green Kevin's eyes were.

"You have green eyes." She mumbled but then mentally kicked herself for her stupidity.

"Yeah I kind of know that." Kevin smiled that Kevin smile again, which set off Victoria's flushing system to full swing.

"Ohhh, mama! What do we have here?" A familiar voice called out.
