The street smells dead. The clogged gutters and trash-filled alleys release an appalling stench to those who were from and loitering on the Outside. Of course, Twilights such as I live in this dump, and it's not surprising. Tension grows as the Fathers of this government still hesitate to desegregate the Normals and Twilights, but we all know that discrimination among us will eternally last.
Only if that were the case.
Dragging the Normal from the ground, I tucked away my cz75. The blood trailed from his head onto the concrete as I dragged him towards a large dumpster. I felt eyes on me, but I couldn't give a care in the world. People are too conceited in their own desires to even bother.
"Hey, pal." A voice erupted from behind me. I turned around, slyly gripping hold onto the hilt of my handgun. But before me wasn't any street brawler or gang, but instead, it was an officer. His badge shone brightly against the slim ray of sunlight and his mouth was curled into a grin. "Yeah, you there." He said. I could feel that all eyes were on us as the moment intensifies.
"What do you want?" I grumbled with a hint of annoyance in my voice.
"Do you realize what you are doing, sir?" He said in a menacing tone.
Ooh.
Scary.
I dropped the dead Normal onto the ground into his own pile of blood. "So what?" I countered. "You're just a pawn."
"Say that again?" The officer shot back. He pulled out a handgun and pointed it at me.
"My, my..." I said incredulously, dismissively raising my hands insinuating to concede. "Chill, it was a joke."
"A joke you say?" He sneered. "Why don't you c'mere and entertain me, Mister Comedian?"
"Wish granted." I smirked. Without warning, I charged at him and before he had time to react, I sidestepped behind him, grabbed hold onto both his arms, and kneed him in the spine multiple times before he was no longer able to get up. He groaned loudly in pain as he curled into a ball. I pulled out my handgun and shot him dead. The alley was silent and no one dared to move a muscle. When I turned around to look at the people, all their gazes averted from me. I sighed; it had to be done one way or another. I looked down at the dead body of the officer. Blood covered and dripped from his forehead, dirtying the concrete. My eyes trailed back a the dead Normal I had previously killed. Knowing that I can't just leave these bodies here, I picked up both of them and dragged them over and into the dumpster.

I know that the police will eventually catch me; I do know. So what's the point of hiding? Hiding will only raise tension in the city, and when people find out that a wanted Twilight was on the loose, it only satisfies me that people are feared. I've been living in the allies ever since I arrived in Ergastulum, and was noticed as a Twilight ever since. Twilights who work with the government or police wear tags that identify their rank in combat. This was legalized after the Three Laws were passed, however, so there will still be discrimination among people. Twilights are called Twilights because they take a certain drug called Celebrer, which was made legal some years ago. These drugs bolster a person's physical stats which makes them menacing and invulnerable in battle.
Previously, before I had come here, I was stationed as a soldier in the West Gate and fought on the front lines. My family was all the way in Germany so they didn't share any physical contact with me while I was away. I'm a descendant from a very wealthy family, the Luciana Family, and I had lived in a mansion all my life. I was respected until one day, I was suddenly sent to the Americas to scout a city called, Ergastulum. I was told to remain in place until I was told to depart from this mission and to keep a "low profile." So I hid in the allies and lived a life here. Little did I know about the discrimination at that time, so I often killed people who raised my anger. I haven't heard from my Commander since then and assumed that they rejected me so I started to stop doing my mission. I'm pretty sure my family in Germany assumes me dead, so be it. I hated them anyways. If I'm known as a Twilight here, I'm fine. As long as I have a life here, I'll adapt.
