Do you know that feeling you get when all is well in life. Satisfaction, complete and pure bliss? When I look at the little princess that was now sound asleep in my arms I felt exactly that. I couldn't believe how lucky I was in life to have such a precious jewel. The other week when I remember seeing those bruises on Maddies wrsit I felt so much rage. Wonders and questions were swimming in my mind of what had happened to her. 

Breaking my train of thoughts I looked up to see Lainey standing at the doorway. "She's a pretty little thing isn't she?" Nodding at her I motioned for her to come and sit alongside me. "Yeah she is. Thanks Lainey. You've been my supporter these past few years I don't know what I'd do without your help." I genuinely spoke looking into her eyes. She smiled at me and said "I love you Danny" At first I was surprised but I later realised that I do love her. "I love you too Lainey. Thank you for being my rock"
As soon as I finished my sentence I immediately heard a whimper coming from the door. Snapping my head into the direction I saw her. My mate. She quickly straightened her posture and as soon as the hurt flickered in her eyes. She quickly choked and said "I'm sorry Alpha, Luna" She spoke with a nod. Never have I felt such strong pain seeing her like that. But I knew where I belong now. With my Luna.

"I see you're here already" I spoke with a slight nod. "Yes, Thank you for looking after her and now I need to take her home" She said. I looked and noticed how she looked tired and beaten. Before I could ask what was happening to her she cut me off saying. "Alpha Daniels may I please speak to you and Luna before we leave?" She asked hesitantly. Curious as to what she was going to say I nodded and placed my princess firmly on her bed before, moving our conversatio to my office.

***Maddie***

"I love you too Lainey. Thank you for being my rock" Hearing those words coming out of the one person you love should be the most happiest moment of your life but when you realise it wasn't directed to you..my heart shattered at he sight in front of me. He loved her and there was nothing I could do. I could hear my wolf whimper and we both knew. This was it. There was no longer any hope for us.

Snapping back to reality I looked to the front to see him and her. They looked so happy and I knew my baby would live a happy life. With her dad and her new..mom. Feeling a slight tear roll down my face. I looked up to them.

"The reason I have requested this meeting is to discuss what will happen to Raven" As soon as I said that Danny was quick on his feet "What do you mean? Your not taking my daughter are you? I just met her Maddie and now your going to take her? You can-" I couldn't take it anymore so I cut him off.

"No, I am here to see if you could maybe take care of her for a while. I have..uhm a meeting to attend to. It might take a while." 'Or maybe forever' my wolf Casey said. Looking at me I could see he wanted to know more but I gave him a pleading look to not ask and to simply agree. "We'd love to have her stay with us for a while." Lainey whom I nearly forgot was in the room.

"Thank you Luna, you'll make a great mother one day. I can see the way you look after my daughter and I couldn't help but feel grateful. Thank you so much and if uhm something were to happen please don't neglect my daughter." I whispered slowly "What's going on Maddison?" I knew he was getting frustrated when he called me by full name but I couldn't bring myself to answer him or even glance his way. Without saying anything I said my Thank yous and when I'd bring Raven and was on my way to leave.

Settling Raven in to her seat. I was half way around the car when I heard a voice from behind me. "Tell me what is happening!" He spoke with his voice raising. Refusing to look at him I shook my head and kept walking. He didn't give up though. As I was about to open my door a hand flew past mine and stopped it from opening. "Maddie what is going on!" He said clearly annoyed with my silence. " Nothing is happening Alp-" But before I could finish saying Alph he growled at me which caused me to flinch and whimper. He quickly noticed this and asked again. "What is going on and don't lie to me." I knew I had to tell him something. The truth. But I knew it'll only make matters worse so I said the one thing that broke me. "Please Danny, let me leave. Clearly you have moved on and honestly I couldn't be any happier fo you. Do you know how many times I looked for you? I longed for you? I was pregenant with our daughter, where were you? I was waking up late at night to our daughters scream, where were you? I watched her take her first steps, where the fuck were you? I celebrated each of her birthdays with my family, but where were you? I  went through so much and WHERE THE FUCK WERE YOU? HUH?" By the end of my  vent I was clearly angry.

Calming my thoughts down I looked into his eyes and said "I loved you, Fuck No! I love you Danny, I don't think I'll ever love someone as much as I love you. But clearly you have moved on and the space I used to hold right there in your heart, belongs to someone else. Look after her Danny, she's obviously good for you, something I never will be. I'm happy for you Danny. And I am really happy for the man that you've become. If anything ever happens, please look after our daughter." Wiping away the tears that now flow freely down my face. I saw that he was no longer in the way of my door. So I quickly opened the door and whispered slowly "Goodbye Danny" and I left with a clear heart. How good was it to finally get that out.
