A/N: Pic of Zack on the side ------------------>
Chapter Two
School went by in a rush so we were at my dad’s shop right after. We always came by and helped with the motorcycles or cars everyday after school. We were all working on a different bike today while the radio was blaring out music. The five of us were working silently while being shielded of the hot sun by a carport that loomed above us. The smell of gasoline was starting to reach us from where the shop was a few feet away from us. We sat in silence while I was contemplating how to tell them. It’s now or never, I told myself. Before I could change my mind I blurt out,
“I’m leaving for London in two days!”
I looked up from my motorcycle to see their faces showed no emotion; you’d think they might be a little sad about my leave.
“Oh okay cool. When are we leaving?” asked Xander.
“No Xander I don’t t-think you get it. I’m leaving and you guys aren’t coming w-with me.” I stuttered.
“Oh… well that’s alright. I mean it’s not like you’re going to be long right? We’ll just stay here I guess.” Zack muttered sadly.
“N-no guys. I’m leaving for good. A-as in m-moving to London.” I replied.
I looked down at my engine wiping away my salty tears. Oh God what’s happening? I’ve never cried before. I started to get my screwdriver while my eyesight started to blur with my tears.
“C-calypso look at u-us.” stuttered Connor. I looked up through my tears to see the guy’s eyes starting to brim with tears, too.
“W-why are you guys crying?” I asked.
“What do you think Calypso? W-we’ve been everywhere with you. N-now you’re mo-moving to London,” cried Chase, “but why are you leaving?”
“Well my m-mom got this really big promotion, but we have to move to London if sh-she wants it.” I replied.
“B-but London’s so far away.” muttered Zack.
“It’s okay guys. We’ll c-call a-all the ti-time. You guys can wr-write me whenever you want. And yo-you can visit every few yea-years.” I stuttered.
“You kn-know that’s no-not the same.” replied Xander.
“Is th-there any po-possible chance yo-you could com-come b-back and live h-here though?” questioned Connor.
“I honestly don’t kn-know guys.” I replied.
As the news sunk in we continued to fix my dad’s motorcycles in silence. As I picked up my screwdriver and wrench I felt my tool belt lift from around my waist.
“What ar-“ I began.
“Cal-Calypso we’ll mi-miss you.” stuttered Chase.
As Chase spoke I felt myself being squeezed from all sides from a huge hug from all of them.
“It’s ok-okay guys. You kn-know what I love ab-about you guys?” I questioned.
“What?” came muffled responses.
“First of a-all you guys a-are crying wi-with me. Second, y-you guys are m-my best friends and I’ll mi-miss you like cra-crazy.”
“It’s ok-okay Calypso. We’ll never go a d-day without ca-calling you. Now s-stop crying, don’t turn in-into a girl now.” chuckled Zack.
Two Days Later
“We-well I guess th-this is goodbye g-guys.” I said softly, trying to hold back my tears again.
“G-goodbye.” they all said in unison.
“Now boarding airplane to London, England. Seats A1-A50 may now board.” a voice announced overhead. Once the voice announced the boarding I felt my heart sink to my stomach.
“Don-don’t forget t-to call everyday.” I add.
As they all nodded I walked up to each of them and hugged them goodbye. While I hugged them they all took a turn to silently wipe one of my tears away. I picked up my bags and walked towards the gate. I risked one last glance over my shoulder and watched as one single tear escaped out of each of the boy’s eyes. I turned my back on them as I left to leave for London.
