I stood next to my father in tears. I looked up at him and pleaded, "Daddy, please don't go." He knelt down to my level with a grim expression. "I'm sorry sweetheart; I have to protect our village. The Separatists are going to attack, and someone has to stand up to them." I sobbed and clung tightly to his brown, dungy robes. "Please don't go, daddy, please!" He hugged back, and I could hear his soft cries.
"I'm sorry Amber, but I'm a Jedi. I protect those in need. You have all the training you need to survive. I love you, Amber, always remember that, and here..." He pulled out a lightsaber from his robe. "...have my lightsaber. I got a spare in my robes. This weapon is your life, Amber. Don't lose it. It is yours now. And here. This is a holobook on the Jedi ways, use it to train yourself to defend yourself and others who cannot do it themselves. I love you Amber...remember that."
I nodded through my sobs as he let go. I watched as he walked to the center of the town square. Droid armies marched into the city and started shooting red lasers at us. I hid behind some bins and whimpered as a man in a black cape and robes walked to my father. Father ignited his lightsaber and got into a fighting stance.
"You will not take this world. I will protect it with my life." The dark man just smirked. "Then you shall burn down with it." Then he ignited a lightsaber with a red blade and attacked my father. I stared at the intense battle between my dad and the Sith. After a few minutes father was looking a little exhausted. The Sith smirked at my dad's vulnerable state and took a chance to stab him in the stomach. My dad let out a scream in pain and clutched the wound.
I gasped and cried as he fell to the ground on his knees. The Sith smirked. "Well, well. You've grown weak from the last time we fought. I thought Jedi were supposed to be strong? And aren't you the Jedi who ran away from the Order? I guess you've had enough of the twisted ways of the light side." Father looked up at the Sith and glared. "No, you're ways are twisted. The Jedi Order will always prevail. If you think you're going to get to me by talking all this nonsense, then you're wasting your time."
The Sith made a dark and evil chuckle, "Oh, I'm not here to talk to you. I'm here...TO END YOU!!" I screamed as he used the red blade to slice my father in half. Everyone gasped and cried at the sight of my dad fell to the ground, no sign of life. I ran over to him and screamed, "Daddy! No!" I grabbed his shoulders and shook him violently, praying that he would spontaneously wake up.
I glanced over my shoulder to see the Sith standing over me; his pale beard contrasted his dark, predatory expression. I whimpered and backed away from him, but each step back I took he took one forward. I gulped and ran away as fast as I can. I moved through the crowds and the alleyways between the buildings until I got to the ship area. I snuck through the crowds of people until I got on a public ship. Panting hard from running, I moved to a seat in the corner and hid from the guards onboard.
Soon the ship took off, and I finally let the tears fall. My mother is gone, my home is gone, and now my father is gone. I can't go back to Jahani now; the Sith will be looking for me. I looked at the lightsaber in my hands and clutched to it for dear life. My father's last words replayed in my head. Right then and there I made a promise to my dad. I will use the databook he gave me to train myself in the ways of the Jedi, but I'll do it in my way. I'll use my training to protect myself and those in need. And I will do it...
Alone.
