Your Darkest Time Comes Before the Dawn,
Don't Give Up Now,
You can Go On.
Chihiro blinked sleepily as she woke. The stars were still shining and the sun still showed no signs of rising. She couldn't sleep. There were too many things going around her head. How? Why? Who? Where? She struggled to keep her mind blank enough for sleep to wash over her again.
There was a rustling in the dense foliage behind her. She instinctively jumped to her feet and braced herself. Loud footsteps echoed through the air. Too loud to be a person. The ground trembled beneath her feet, and a huge head appeared between the trees. It was a delicate face, with a small frown. It looked as if it was lost from it's mother.
Then the face darkened. Anger and pain hardened its features when it's eyes fell upon her. Chihiro had no idea what to do. For once in her life she didn't want to fight. However, the dragon obviously didn't understand her as it stared at her with intimidating power. Then there was a crash behind and the beautiful, emerald green turned its head revealing a golden arrow sticking out of his neck. There was deep, purple blood seeping out of the wound.Whatever it was that had startled the dragon seemed to have left as the creature refocused its attention on her. However the anger had gone and he now looked tired and utterly broken. The dragon staggered and fell before her, letting its sad eyes flicker shut.
She cautiously started walking toward the mystical creature. Slowly she caressed his sleeping face, his skin felt like the dead leaves that had fallen from the tree's in Autumn. She gently wrapped her hand around the golden arrow and tugged. the dragon flinched but was too weak to move further. His beautiful face contorted in fear and pain. Just a little more force and the arrow came out. The gaping wound healed almost instantly and the creatures colors brightened.
Her eyes widened in shock as the creature shrunk beneath the palms of her hands. His eyes flickered open to reveal a purple ocean of gratitude. He curled up in her hands gratefully just as Haruko made his way through the trees. There was louder rustling behind him, and every leaf that rustled seemed to shriek " Danger! ". " Run!" , he screamed as a terrifying beast appeared.
She obeyed without argument and ran as fast as her legs would carry her with the dark beast hot on her heels. The dragon in her palm fell to the ground and hit the ground running. With every step he grew until he was able to face the mighty beast.
