Ash's Point of View

Ash's head was pounding. His vision was blurry, but it seemed like he was lying on his back, staring at the sky.

Where am I? Ash thought. He couldn't hear anything, except the pounding in his head.

He kept staring at the sky, unable to move. Then he noticed something.

The sky had some kind of weird hue to it. It was the normal color, but it looked different somehow. Ash struggled to think of a word to describe what it looked like.

Then, he thought of a good describing word for it.

Pixelated.

Ash sat up quickly and looked around in bewilderment.

Everything was pixelated.

The grass he was laying on, the trees to his right, the rocks to his left. The small neighborhood about fifty yards ahead of him, the river behind him, the clouds, the sun.

Everything was pixelated.

Ash couldn't help but feel like he had seen this kind of--graphics, would he call it?--before. But how would he have?

Then Ash jumped when he saw his friends lying on the ground a few feet away from him.

They were all wearing the same clothes they had been wearing, but they, too, looked pixelated. Even their faces and skin looked pixelated.

What is going on? Ash wondered. He took a closer look at his friends, and again thought he had seen that kind of graphics before.

Wait a minute.

Graphics.

Pixelated.

"Are we in Pokemon?!" Ash exclaimed.

Paul sat up, looking as confused as Ash did. He scanned their surroundings, then met eyes with Ash.

"Pokemon?" Paul asked. "How the heck are we in Pokemon?!"

"I don't know! This must all be a dream!" Ash replied. "This can't be real."

Eva also sat up slowly, the same puzzled look on her face that Paul and Ash had had. "Where are we?" she asked.

"Pokemon," Paul answered, trying to sound casual but failing. They were inside a video game, after all.

"This isn't logically possible," Eva murmured. "We can't be in the world of Pokemon. It has to be a--a dream or something! Yeah! That's it!"

Steven finally sat up. He too looked around, disoriented. "Are we in Pokemon?" he asked slowly.

"I--I think so," Ash answered. "We don't know how we got here or why, and we're just as confused as you are, but--"

"This is awesome!" Steven interrupted. "We're inside a video game! Do you know how long I've wanted to do this?!"

Steven immediately stood up and started running around, looking at everything closely. Ash, Paul, and Eva watched him in bewilderment from where they sat on the ground.
