Chapter 13

I woke up with my head on Damien’s shoulder, and his hand holding mine. The airplane rumbled and I quickly remembered the beginning of the flight, and why my hand was in his. I released his hand and he woke up, running his fingers though his tousled black hair. His stunning eyes me mine, and he instantly looked worried.

“How are you feeling?” He asked.

“A lot better, thank you,” I mumbled, suddenly shy.

“You should have told Mr. Henderson you were afraid of airplanes,” he spoke softly.

“It’s just the first one I’ve been on since-” I stopped speaking, like saying what happened aloud would make it all more real than it already was.

He nodded, and I glanced around the private jet. Mr. Henderson was asleep on the small couch, and Mary was reading at the table. It looked just like the jet on Criminal Minds!

“Why the sudden smile?” Damien raised an eyebrow.

“This is just like the private jet on my favorite t.v show,” I smiled at the thought of Dr. Spencer Reid sitting in a chair just like mine, trying to crack the latest case.

“Oh, I see. Well, enjoy it while you can. We’ll be in New York in about half an hour,” he replied.

It’s where we were going to start our mission. We had even dyed my hair back it’s normal brown so I wouldn’t stick out so much.

“That was quick,” I commented.

“Well, yeah. You were sleeping on me the entire time,” he pointed out.

I blushed, which didn’t go unnoticed. He smirked.

“Don’t be embarrassed, girlfriend,” he emphasized the last part of his sentence heavily. “I’m irresistible.”

“That you are,” I agreed, which shocked him.

This time, he blushed. He was so cute, thinking he could out-embarrass me. Silly boy.

“Don’t be getting Skye pregnant,” Mary warned suddenly, without looking up.

We both looked at the ground in silence.

“Mary, I haven’t even kissed him,” I protested.

“Yet,” he added.

“Skye’s pregnant!” Mr. Henderson sat up. “Gosh, Damien. You don’t have to play the role all the way to the bedroom.”

“Oh my god! Everyone, shut up! I’m not pregnant! And he’s never even been in my bedroom!” I insisted.

“You don’t have to do it in a bed, you know,” Damien pointed out.

“Enough!” I hid my face in my hands.

“You’re fun to annoy, Skye. But don’t take it too seriously,” Damien whispered in my ear, giving me goose bumps.

He mistook it for me being cold, and stood up to get me a blanket.

“Damien, I’m not cold!” I sighed in defeat.

“Really, Skye? Then why do you have goose bumps?” He sent me a pointed look.

Mary glanced up from her book and smiled knowingly. Mr. Henderson was almost asleep again.

My silence gave Damien enough time to realize exactly why I had shivered. Unfortunately, he wasn’t stupid. His lips parted as if he were to say something, but he didn’t. He just sat back down next to me in silence, and I put my head back on his shoulder. I fell asleep to him gently toying with my hair, as I came to terms with the fact that I might actually have a little crush on him.

Just a little.

There's something weird about this story. When I write for it, the parts always end up super short...and I don't feel right about dragging them on.

But, come on. Do I get an 'Awwwww!'

Are they not adorable?

I love them together. And they aren't even together. xD

Thanks for reading! Vote, fan, or comment.

I upload sooner when you do, believe it or not.

I love you all! :)
