The Lost Stories

Chapter 9

- During that day when Kelly told me everything about how she was really worried about me when I was at the hospital, I couldn't help but have butterflies in my stomach. She's really the only girl that has done something like that for me...
-Dinner was at 8pm, my mom was cooking a huge feast for us. I could tell that she was still hurt inside knowing that her one and true love was gone. It looked like she pretended that none of it happen, she was smiling as she cooked and when she looked at me while she would say " I love you". I honestly was still very hurt inside knowing my dad was gone. At the moment I just kept thinking about him and all the memories we shared .. I even remembered what my dad had told me before the crash... I felt so sad ..
-At that moment I heard the door bell ring. I came back to reality and knew who was at the door, I quickly ran up stairs to my room red as ever and told mom that I'll be down in a minute. She had laughed and told me not to take too long and that I was adorable.
- Once I was upstairs I could hear my mom and Evelyn greeting Kelly as she came in. I was behind my door listening the whole time on the floor covering my face. This was the first time I ever had a girl over my house and I personally couldn't believe that the first girl to come to my house would be my high school crush. I started to walk back and forth thinking of how I should act, what I should say , hell I was even thinking on how I should eat properly. I started talking to myself saying things like , " oh hey Kelly nice seeing you here " then I told myself " no that's too harsh" then I said , " oh hey Kelly I didn't think you would show up" then I smacked myself on the forehead saying, " no I'm gonna look like such a coward" . I froze in place thinking of how I should act for tonight, but then I remember what my dad had told me a few years back about how you should act in front of a girl you like. He would just say " act yourself". Once I remembered that I smiled ... knowing my old man is still alive in my mind and even in my heart . My mom had called me down for dinner, so I went back downstairs. As I went down I said " thanks dad" as if he was beside me the whole time.
- I had dressed a little how I should I say "fancy". I wore a white dress shirt unbuttoned with black jeans, it wasn't the best but it was all I had. As I entered the dinning room, my mom and Kelly were laughing and when I mean laughing I mean they were cracking up even my sister Evelyn. " hey sorry I took so long it's just ... " just as soon as I was gonna finish my sentence, I unfortunately soon realized that my mom was showing Kelly baby pictures of me.
- I stood there in embarrassment sweating and red. I started to cough loudly to get my mom attention, but she just kept going on and on how " this was Brian when he was just 2 years old" or " this was Brian when he peed in his pants on the first day of kindergarten" and worse of all " here's one where he was butt naked in the living room" Then I said out loudly " mom!" She had turned around laughing and said " oh I'm sorry dear I didn't hear you, I was just showing Kelly some pictures of you when you were little." " I think that's enough pictures for tonight mom" I said as I grabbed the picture book off the table.
- After that scene of total embarrassment my mom had just finished cooking and started to bring in the food but, strangely she had only bought enough food for just 2. I quickly asked mom, " uhh aren't you and Evelyn going to eat with us ?.. " She quickly replied with a smile, " oh well uhh I promised Evelyn I would take her  out to chuck e' cheese  tonight. " I immediately was in shock I couldn't say anything at all. Then my mom said to both me and Kelly, " I made chicken casserole for the both of you and there's dessert in the fridge if you like" Then she turned around to Kelly saying, " I hope you don't mind just having dinner with Brian here" as she winked at Kelly. Then Kelly soon replied, " Awe thanks Mrs. Trivinos i bet the food tastes as amazing as it smells! and don't worry about us, have fun Evelyn!". My mom quickly grabbed her coat and took Evelyn to the car and yelled out " hope you two have a fun time" and she also told Kelly that she doesn't have to feel uncomfortable and that she should feel like this is her house too.
- After she had left I was still speechless. My mom had actually left me alone with Kelly at my own house ! I was looking down thinking of what to say to Kelly to start up a conversation, as I was looking down I felt butterflies in my stomach and I started to sweat through my hands, I was nervous and super shy. But then I looked up when she wasn't looking and realized how beautiful she looked at that moment .. She wore this really cute skirt with a sweater on top and she wore her glasses that just bought out her amazing eyes at that moment I was happy .. I felt joy and peacefulness knowing that Kelly was literally right in front of me.. I started to feel my emotions rise and I felt more how I should I put it stronger mentally. Then however, Kelly asked me " Brian are you wearing contacts? " I looked up and said "what makes you say that? " and she said laughing " well your eyes are blue, and well its weird cause your eyes are usually brown ". I looked at the mirror that was behind her and realized that my eyes had turned blue, I instantly said to myself " holy shit, she's gonna find out ! She's gonna know and then she's gonna leave and think I'm some complete freak! " but then she said " they actually look good on you" I looked at her for a moment and saw her smile. That smile had relieved me, I knew she actually thought I was wearing blue eye contacts, where in reality it was my " abilities" showing. I told her as I rubbed the back of my head with relief, " Yeah, I saw them at hot topic and thought why not try it" I immediately started to do a fake laugh afterwards knowing what I just said was complete stupidity at its finest. Kelly looked at me and said, " Well i like it!"
Then I said " uhh so you wanna start eating ?" Kelly answered back laughing, " sure I can tell you're starving, you're sweating and seem pale" and I soon realized that she was right, I was so nervous she could tell.
We started to eat and surprise she began asking me questions about myself. We talked so much it seemed as if if we'd never run out of what to say.
- After we were done eating, I took my plate and her's back to the kitchen sink to wash them . As I was washing them she came right next to me and rolled up her sleeves and started to help clean the dishes , I told nervously, " uhh Kelly you don't have to help me I got this. " Then she replied back smiling, " oh sheesh I ate as much as you did so it's only right for me to help out too" I had smile at her after she said, soon after that she looked at me as I was smiling at her and I quickly turned my face around in giggly manner blushing as much as ever, then I quickly tried to grab one of the dishes to try and avoid this awkward moment, that as soon I was tried grabbing the plate I accidentally grabbed Kelly's hand...
-Then there was a moment of silence.. I stared out to space thinking of how much worse this could get. All that came out my mouth was " I'm sorry that was a total accident I swear! " Then as I said that I felt a tight grip on my hand as I held Kelly's hand it was as if she was holding on my to hand.. I quickly looked at her and she was actually blushing. She said, " It's okay haha it wasn't like you were hitting on me " I looked at her, cheeks red and smiling slightly, and I heard voices in my mind and I could instantly detect it was Kelly's voice. All I heard was " oh my god he actually held my hand what should I do should I keep holding his hand or do I let go or should I approach him or wait for him to approach me .. " As I started to listen in more my head started to hurt and I started to hear in the loud pitchy noise, it was getting stronger and stronger that I had collapsed on the floor covering my ears and in pain. I saw Kelly immediately come to my aid, she started to grab me and hold me I didn't hear anything she said but it looked like she was trying to see what was wrong and then she held my hand tightly. At that moment it felt like she had actually pulled me out of darkness. Just as that happened my head was now clear and the pitchy noise was gone. I looked back at Kelly and said " I'm fine now" she kept on holding my hand instantly and to my surprise, started to hug me tightly and quickly said "I don't know what it is about you, but every time something happens to you i seem to drown myself with worry " At that moment I put my arm around her and told her softly and gently, " Kelly Don't worry I'm fine now I'm sorry I scared you like that" Then we both let go of each other and just began to stare at each other. I honestly was lost as I looked at her she was so scared but other than that I couldn't stop staring at her beautiful angel like face. She stared back at me as if she was admiring me. Then out of nowhere we suddenly started to get closer to each other and at moment for the first time ever in my life I had kissed a girl .. And that girl was my high school crush Kelly ...
