The next morning, I woke up and Kayley was not in her bed anymore. I went outside to see if she was there but I just found my brother, Tom, sitting in the living room, watching a movie with a bucket of popcorn in his hands.
"Is Kayley gone again?" I said. He turned to look at me.
"Isn't she in your room? Maybe, she's in the restroom or something." He said as he offered me the popcorn. I waved it off.
"I'm pretty sure she's not there. I've checked it."
"Must have left early. She must have went to shopping. Why don't you call her? You have her number, don't you?"
"May I remind you that we were not exactly getting along with each other?"
"But you were comforting her and all," He muttered.
"What was that?" I asked, acting like I didn't hear him.
I sat next to him and pushed my hand inside the popcorn bucket. I picked a handful and shoved it in my mouth.
"And I just thought you didn't want a popcorn," he mumbled, chuckling.
"I'm too impulsive." I said, grabbing another handful of popcorn from the bucket. I attempted to get another when he moved the bucket away from me.
"You selfish bastard." I said and he grinned at me.
He closed his mouth, all the amusement was gone.
"I'm almost sure she'll be back in a jiffy." He said.
"I'ts not that I'm worried about her, anyway."
"You terrible liar," he muttered. "I'm starting to think you're gay."
"Fuck off."
