LOST DAWN

Chapter Four

Slowly I opened my eyes to sunlight, I felt something warm beside me. I looked and smiled, John was lying there he was sound asleep. I felt the bed sheets on top of me, then I started to wonder. I never got into the bed so how did I end up in it, I looked under the covers and saw I still had my clothes on. So that was a good sign, I pulled back the covers on my half and gently got out of the bed. I stood up and crept towards the door, today was the day I was going to do something for John. So I made my way downstairs and into the kitchen, there stood all the gleaming surfaces. I saw the warning tape on the floor on the spot John had marked off as dangerous to me. I opened all the cupboards and found some pots and pans. I pulled a saucepan from the cupboard and laid it gently on top of the cooker. I went over to the fridge and opened it, I took from it eggs, bacon, mushrooms and tomatoes. This isn’t a show for a cooking program I am just explaining it to myself so I can get it right, it’s not my fault I can’t cook for toffee. Well I can cook a bit, but not very well, ok I went over to the bread bin and opened it and took out three slices of thin white bread. I found the toaster and placed the bread inside and pulled the handle thing down. So I left that to it, I turned on the cooker and I switched it onto gas mark 6 I think. I placed the saucepan onto the ring and went back to the fridge and pulled out butter. I closed the fridge door and went back to the saucepan again, I decided to do the eggs first. Ok I am not Gordon Ramsey at this, so I managed to get about three eggs in the saucepan and two on the floor. I cleared that up, so far so good, I got the eggs onto a pate and after a while I did all of the breakfast and took it up on a tray with a drink as well. I went into the bedroom and saw John was still asleep, I placed the tray on his bedside cabinet. I gently shook him awake, he groaned and woke up with a smile on his face.

“Morning Alexia”

“Morning John I made you breakfast.” John looked at me shocked, he sat up and saw the tray,

“Wow I’m impress I didn’t know you could cook.” I had to tell him the truth really,

“I can’t I just learn that today.” He raised his eyebrows at me,

“Come here” I leaned closer to him and he kissed me on the lips, I felt the prickle of stubble on his face.

“I hope you like it” I said as I pulled away from him,

“I am sure I will, you need to get changed into new clothes and get ready for today.”

“What are we doing today?”

“I am taking you ice skating then out for a meal together.” My heart jumped and I felt light as a feather. I looked at John, this was the first time I was ever out in the human world, I am going to behave and act like a human.

“I am going to get a shower and then I am going to get changed out of these clothes.” John nodded,

“Ok you go ahead, I’ll catch up in a bit.” I went out of the room and into the bathroom, I stripped down naked in the middle of the bathroom and stepped towards the shower. I noticed something, I turned and saw myself in a mirror. Yeah another lie by humans vampires do have reflections. I had long light pink dyed hair, with sparkling blue eyes, my lips were vivid red and my skin pale white. This is how I look, the mirror stopped at just above my naked breasts so no worries there. I heard a sound behind me and I saw John came at the side of the mirror,

“You look beautiful Alexia,” my cheeks went a pale red as I started to blush; I felt the heat rise up in my face.

“Thank you” I saw John in the mirror he started to take his top off. I started to feel a bit weak, he wasn’t going to join me I the shower was he? I saw him walk over to me and I felt his hands on my cold waist, he moved me aside.
