Chapter 9

Josh P.O.V

I'm about to get on the subway when I see Maya. She's smiling ear to ear I never seen her so happy, seeing her smile just bright up my whole day, I should go talk to her and see what she's doing on this side of the town all by herself.

Josh walks over to Maya. When Maya see's Josh her smile slowly crept off her face.

Josh: Hey Maya.
Maya: Hey Josh, what are you doing around these parts?
Josh: I was going to ask you the same.
Maya: I live around here, you're turn.
Josh: On my way back to Cory's coming from my friend house.
Maya: Oh, well I should get going before it gets dark.

Maya begins to walk away.

Josh: Wait!
Maya: For what?
Josh: For me I'm going to walk you home it's going to be dark soon.
Maya: You can't.
Josh: Why not?
Maya: You can't walk around these parts all by yourself when it's dark.
Josh: I'll just call Cory to pick me up from your place.
Maya: Are you sure, I can walk myself home.
Josh: Yeah.

They were almost at Maya's when Josh held Maya hand. Maya was shocked but she didn't say anything she just went along with it.

They finally got to Maya place then Josh called Cory and asked him to pick him up but Cory said he was busy so he would be there in like 2 hours.

Josh: Ok he said he's coming to get me in two hours.
Maya: Two hours!?
Josh: Yeah, what's the matter?
Maya: .. Nothing.
Josh: Ok so what do you usually do around here.
Maya: Draw.
Josh: Oh that's cool.
Maya: Yeah, you wanna watch a movie or something while you wait.
Josh: Sure, What ya got.
Maya: I got some DiCaprio movies.
Josh: Do you got the Great Gatsby?
Maya: Yeah, Here put it in right there I'll be back.
Josh: Ok I'll be waiting.

Maya's P.O.V

Ok Josh Is being a bit weird for someone who doesn't like me back. Lucas and Josh is making it hard for me to choose. When Josh held my hand I didn't feel anything but when Lucas hugged me it felt like little fireworks went off in my stomach.

After I hand Josh the movie I go in my room to go change into sweatshirt and some pants but as soon as I walk in I see someone at my window I automatically grabbed my bat then I heard the person laughing then I noticed it was Lucas Wth is he doing here.

Maya: What is wrong with you? Just standing at my window like a creep how long were you out there for?
Lucas: I've only been out here for 2 minutes I was trying to see if you made it home on time.

Lucas climbed through the window.

Maya: Oh. Thanks
Lucas: I got until 9 what do you wanna do until then.
Maya: Well Josh is here in the leaving room but I guess we can go in there and watch the movie that's on.
Lucas: Josh. Why is Josh here?
Maya: He came back today and I ran into him when I got off the Subway he walked me home.
Lucas: Don't tell me you are just gonna let him back after he left and broke you're heart? He didn't even say bye to you before he left for all of those years.
Maya: He didn't break my heart we never even went out.
Lucas: Maya you came to my house crying because of that.
Maya: That was the past, I'm over it now.
Lucas: Maya I'm sorry for bringing it up but I don't want you to get hurt again.
Maya: Yeah I know.
Lucas: So you said a movie is on in there.
Maya: Yeah the Great Gatsby.
Lucas: Ok.

Lucas was about to walk in there Maya could see Lucas was mad over what Josh did to her.

Maya: Lucas wait.
Lucas: Yes.
Maya: Don't do anything stupid in there.
Lucas: I won't.
Maya: Ok.
