I jolted awake, with cold sweat beading my forehead. A man was standing at a monitor with his back to me, I was bound to a leather seat with thick ropes. I had a needle stuck into my arm with thick blue serum flowing through the tube. The man turned around and I closed my eyes, pretending to still be asleep.

A door slid open and the sound of heels echoed off the walls.

"The process is almost finished, ma'am," said the man.

Muskrat nodded and walked over to me. She studied me with her penetrating eyes, as if knowing I was awake.

"Oh, dear Elizabeth, if you knew what awaits you," she whispered and then walked out of the room. The scientist walked out of the room with her, holding a stack of papers and muttering something about scanning.

I tried to sit upright with no luck.

After what seemed like forever the door opened again but the footsteps didn't sound like the scientist's.

"Lizzie?" Coles voice said. I opened my eyes and twisted my head so I was looking at him. I tried saying something, but my voice failed me.

"I have some valuable information, so just listen. I went through the papers at Muskrats office and I found this," he pulled out a sheet of paper.

"It says that-" the door creaked open and Cole turned around abruptly.

"Cole, sweetie, what are you doing here?" Muskrat asked him in a sickening sweet tone.

Cole hastily stuffed the paper into his pocket. Muskrat took him by the shoulder and led him out of the room, muttering him something in the same fake sweet voice as before.

After he was gone she turned to me and her face became grim. Wow, if this mad scientist thing did punt work for her she could always be an actress.

She grabbed a needle from the table in the corner. Muskrat smiled, walking to me slowly, like a predator approaching a wounded victim.

"When you wake up, if you wake up, this would've never happened," she stuck the needle in my left arm, the opposite arm of the blue serum and my vision blurred.

"Sleep well," muskrat said quietly, not meaning it at all, to me. After that I remembered nothing else.

I woke up on a soft bed with a blanket over me. Bright light leaked through the window, and it took some time for me to adjust.

I stood up on the cold floor and walked towards the door. It creaked open. The sound echoed through the house and Cole ran up the stairs, his footsteps falling heavy and loud.

"Lizzie! You're awake!" He engulfed me in a hug. "Come on, there's some one I'd like you to meet."

I wrapped my thin arms around my frail form and walked down the stairs and into the lounge room. There were five people sitting there.

Jason, two women and two men.

"Elizabeth!" A woman with blonde hair screeched and hugged me tightly. I pushed her away in disgust, I don't even know her.

She backed away, shocked at my actions. I gave her a sarcastic smile.

"This is Elma," said Cole. I nodded in her direction. I sat on the plush leather couch.

"Who's house is this?" I asked.

"Mine," Cole said.

It was a nice house, beside walls and a wooden floor with an old school rug. A bookshelf was I'm one corner and a television set in the other.

Cole walked up towards the bookshelf and pulled a hard bound red one out. The bookshelf slid aside and a door was revealed. Cole motioned forums to walk in behind him and so we did.
