Amethyst P.O.V.

~I looked around in the frigid coldness of night. The empty streets were illuminated by the street lights. I continued my mindless walking to no where and stopped seeing the green figure of Peridot. She is probably going to freak the fuck out again. I told myself as I continued walking, which happened to be closer to Peridot.

~"Hey Peri." I said emotionlessly. Peridot turned around startled, but was quickly relieved seeing it was just me. "Oh, you." Peridot said with slight disgust. I rolled my eyes and stood silently. "You know, Lapis, Jasper, and I, were planning to destroy you gems, but it seems you've all already did that for us." Peridot said smugly, with something else in her force I couldn't read...pity? "You're welcome you selfish clod." Peridot took slight offense to my words, which plastered a half smile on my face.

~"What have you been doing, Amethyst?" Peridot questioned, attempting to keep the awkward silence at bay. "Self harm, depression, the usual." I answered honestly. "Why do you do that to yourself Amethyst?" I froze when Peridot asked the personal question. "I-...I guess I don't remember." I lied. "Then why do you continue such foolish acts of self harm? I mean, you are one of the most valued gem warriors, that used to thrive on Homeworld and bask in their glory and high rank." I glanced at Peridot, seeing she was dreamily staring up at the stars about the Quartz warriors. "Used to." I mimicked Peri's words. "Well, yeah, you blew Homeworld up remember?" How could I forget? I nodded my head a bit, hearing Peridot's tone go from dreamy to solem.

"What are you doing Peridot?" I asked before the silence became awkward. "Studying Earth life." I giggled a bit. I saw Peridot blush a deep green and shove me a little, we were the same height almost without her 'extra body parts'. "What's so funny?" Peridot questioned, slightly angry. "Nerd." Is all I could say without bursting into laughter. "I still don't understand such a stupid 'taunting' word." Peridot growled. I put my hand on Peridot's shoulder, "You will if you stick with me, the original cool kid." I smirked. "'Cool kid'...that doesn't make any sense." Peridot thought for a minute before continuing. "I guess I could participate in the events you do....but strictly for learning these phrases." I giggled a bit before icey wind hit me.

~I shivered and gestured for Peridot to follow me, hesitantly, she did. I walked to the top of the mountain that our house rested below. I looked at the setting sun and nudged Peridot and pointed at it. "The sun is going away, like it does every night Amethyst." Peridot said with annoyance. I rolled my eyes, "would you just look at it for once?" I growled a bit in annoyance as well. "I am looking at it." I gritted my teeth a bit. "I mean really look at it." Peridot sighed and stared at it, obviously bored. I rolled my eyes and gestured for her to continue following me.

~We walked into the lighthouse. Peridot was hesitant about this, like she is about everything, I thought to myself. "Doesn't that strange human life form known as, Ronaldo, dwell here?" She questioned. "Only on for movies and stuff, which is rare. Plus, he has given me his permission to crash here whenever I want, except on movie nights." Peridot nodded nervously. I walked to the very top of the lighthouse.

~"This is where I usually sleep, because the view is breathtaking, but you wouldn't understand." I jumped on the two messy mattresses I had laid out for a bed, two thick blankets on the edges of the bed. "This is my bed." I got up and pointed to the couch. "And that's my couch." A T.V. sat on top of a box to meet the height of the couch. "You know the rest."

~Peridot examined my messy dwelling. "I thought your home was with the gems in the beach house." I clenched my blankets with both my hands at the sound of the word 'home'. "That place, was never my home." I mumbled darkly. "That's a lie I can detect." Peridot said, still looking at all my junk that laid on the floor. "How would you know?" I snarled a bit. "Because, you once considered it your home." Peridot finished, looking closely at some tiny paper she found.

~My heart broke instantly, but I quickly covered my emotions up. "See?" Peridot said quietly, showing me the object she had held in her hands, which was a picture of Steven, Pearl, Garnet, Lion, and Connie holding Steven up and tracing the star on his one shirt he always wore. His gem was glowing bright pink. A tear slid down my face as I slowly took hold of the picture and stared at it. I quickly snapped back to reality, wiped the year away, and hid the picture between the two mattresses.

~"Well Peri, what's mine, is yours." I quietly mumbled, still recovering from what just had happened. "I would say the same, but I don't have anything." I shrugged and replied, "I don't need anything from you anyway." Peridot simply nodded and looked out the window.

~"What are you looking at P...Peri." I was about to call Peridot, P, before remembering that I always called Pearl that. "The view." I raised an eyebrow and walked over next to her. "Why?" I questioned, remembering that she seemed unable to see the beauty in Earth like I did. "I guess the view is kinda 'breathtaking'." Peridot said, a hint of dreaminess in her voice. I faint smile played on my lips. I guess everybody is capable of seeing the beauty in everything....like Steven. I frowned thinking of the small boy I completely ditched.

~"Well, you can try to get some rest Peridot, because I am." I said, back to my cold state. "I'm familiar with the strange ways of sleeping." Peridot stated as I jumped onto the couch and closed my eyes. "You can have the bed tonight." I wearily said as I began to drift off into sleep almost instantly, I was extremely mentally tired. "Goodnight Amethyst." Peridot said softly. I was about to say the same back to her before sleep took over me.
