Pearl P.O.V.

~I had just recently received a new batch of cigs from Lars and was smoking one currently, wandering the empty streets of Beach City. The red glow of the cigarette lit my face up and slightly warmer me from the cold breeze. Winter. Snow was too be expected soon, and snow made it harder for Lars to retrieve cigarettes. Damn winter.

~I let out one last huff of the addicting toxic smoke of the cigarette before flicking it to the ground and finishing it off my stepping on it. I looked up and examined the area around me. I had spotted a black figure standing in the cold breeze, it's obvious the figure had not dressed for the cold breeze today because it seemed to be wearing a long, open dress. I sighed and began to slowly walk to the figure.

~As I neared the I identified figure, I noticed a tint of blue in its skin. Only one human in Beach City with that color skin, or should I say gem. "Hello Lapis." I coldly greeted the freezing gem. Lapis jumped and turned around. Lapis had her arms wrapped tightly around herself, trying to maintain as much heat as possible. Lapis's face quickly went from startled to a curious stare. "Pearl? Peridot was right, you are corrupted...or at least different." I rolled my eyes and let out a huff of air in a sad attempt of a chuckle. "Different." I silently mimicked Lapis's words.

~Awkward silence was quickly broke by Lapis's shiver. I glanced at the fragile gem's freezing body, built quite like my own. I rolled my eyes, took off my leather jacket and wrapped it around the shivering, blue gem. Lapis gave me a curious look and was about to object to the jacket, but I quickly stopped her my saying, "You're going to freeze your ass off Lapis, so keep the jacket." Lapis quickly looked away, her cheeks blushing a deep blue.

~I got out two cigarettes, offering one to Lapis, who awkwardly accepted the strange gift. I lit my cig and Lapis's and began to suck on the addicting tobacco. I let out the gray cloud of tobacco that clouded my pure lungs, and glanced at Lapis, who simply stared at the unknown object. "You suck on the opposite end I lit Lapis, then puff out the smoke." Lapis did as instructed and coughed a few times. I chuckled a little remembering my first cigarette. "What the hell is this Pearl?" Lapis questioned, pulling the smoke as far away from her as possible. I smirked and replied, "It's nothing special, just something you'll get used to if you continue to do it. They're my remedy." I thought about the word 'remedy' and figured they did help cure my depression, but that wasn't the right word for them.

~Lapis hesitantly sucked on the cigarette again, and again, and again until she finally managed to not cough afterwards. "That's it." I patted Lapis's back and instantly stopped by the first pat, realizing I had just touched her gem. Lapis looked at me awkwardly, but slowly faked a smile, obviously so it wasn't going to be awkward. Touching one's gem is an extremely intimate act, put touching gems together is the most intimate a gem could possibly get with another one. Lapis was at least trying.

~"You know, you aren't as bad as people say you are." Lapis said, mimicking me extinguishing my cigarette. I smiled a bit before objecting, "The people that say I'm so bad, know me, Lapis Lazuli." Lapis glanced at me, her eyebrow raised. I let out a slight laugh, "You might understand someday." Lapis simply nodded and held my leather jacket closer to her body.

~I finally felt my limbs go numb from the icey cold air. Time for me to be on my way. "Time for me to go get drunk." I said. Lapis hesitantly said, "Ok then...goodbye..." I turned around and started walking before a thin hand pulled my back. "Wait! Are you going to come see me at the barn tomorrow-er uh...soon?" Lapis questioned me, seeming slightly desperate for my attention. I simply nodded and continued on my way to the beach house.

~As I walked to the house, a noticed the temperature drop quickly when the sunset. I sighed as my helpless exposed arms went numb. I didn't try to keep them warm anyway, there was no way to keep them warm without my jacket, so why even bother.

~I heard Steven's laughter in the distance. I quickly snapped my attention towards the laughter and saw Steven and Connie happily going to the house. Haven't seen Steven this happy in a long time.

~Suddenly Steven pulled Connie into a passionate kiss. I flinched in slight disgust, ever since Greg did things like that to Rose, I've hated the acts of humanly love. Even hugging disgusted me in ways remembering how they had destroyed the one gem I cared about.

~I sighed, seeing my breath hang in the air, and continued walking to the house, the breeze suddenly gone, but the temperature still low. Sand partials irritatingly slipping into my shoes, though I had controlled anger, unlike Ruby...I thought as I came to the window of the house and saw everything trashed. Damnit Ruby. I rolled my eyes as I walked in.

~I didn't attempt to avoid the trash on the ground, like the old me would, I couldn't even see the floor so there was no point in such a stupid thought. I pushed my feet threw the inches of trash that overflowed the house. I growled and fell onto the couch.

~No boozes for me to fall asleep to. I sighed and I attempted fall asleep like a....human. I hated humans, like deeply hated them because of Greg.

~After I had fallen into thought about humans and Rose, I had fallen asleep to simply dream about the same, horrible thing.
