Steven P.O.V.

~I awoke around 8:30am wearily. Overslept. I groaned and got up. I looked over at my phone and saw Connie had tried calling. I smiled, opening my phone and going straight to Connie's contact, but texting her instead.

Steven: hey Connie!

I waited a few minutes for a response, but I didn't have to wait long at all.

Connie: hey Steven! I don't have much time to ask you, so wanna hang out?

That was straight to the point, I laughed a little before quickly laughing.

Steven: yes of course! Say at the Beach below my house?

Connie: sure, cya then:)!

Steven: cya :)!

~I shut off my phone and glanced at my mirror. I noticed I had began to grow a beard like my dad. I walked to my bathroom, applied shaving cream to my face, and shaved it.

~After I finished, I brushed my teeth, and got properly dressed. I also ate a mint for extra fresh breath. I looked in the mirror one last time at my bright reflection before running out.

~I grabbed a blanket and a basket full of baked goods, breads, sandwiches, supplies like a butter knife, paper plates and jams, so we could make a different sandwich if we wanted. I quickly searched through the whole basket, making sure I had everything.

~I quickly ran out the door and was hit with a cold breeze. I quickly set everything up, which was just a blanket and umbrella for protection if it rained. I was just about to run inside when suddenly a voice called out to me, "Hey Steven!"

~"Connie! Come sit!" I patted the ground next to me. Connie had a book in her hand along with a basket. I smiled as Connie came and sat next to me.

~"How's it going Connie?" I questioned as she got settled. "Good Steven, what about you?" I thought for a second before answering. "Same old, but a bit better now, with you." I smiled.

~"Steven." I heard a faint voice call from behind me. I turned around to see Sapphire on the balcony. "Sapphire?" I ran to Sapphire, along with Connie who followed. "Steven, I haven't been out for awhile, neither has Ruby, mind taking us out for a long walk." I nodded, looking around for Ruby. "Ruby is still in her room, but she will be out..." Suddenly Ruby walked out of her room, bags under her eyes. "now." Sapphire finished.

~"Stay with Sapphire." I whispered to Connie before walking into the now clean house. "Hey Ruby..." I awkwardly greeted Ruby, I haven't seen Ruby in almost a year, so of course it was going to be awkward. "Sapphire thought it would be cool for all of us, me, Connie, Sapphire, and you, to go out, since you two haven't been out in awhile..." I rubbed the back of my neck as I explained everything to Ruby. Awkward silence filled the room. I glanced over at Connie and Sapphire who seemed to be staring at me.

~I looked back at Ruby to see she was staring at Connie and Sapphire. "Fine." Ruby finally said. I smiled and walked out to gather the food and stuff I prepared. All this hard work, for nothing. I thought in disappointment. "Hey Steven, Ruby and I need a little alone time for a second and need to get prepared, you and Connie can spend more time together." I smiled and looked at Connie who was also smiling. "Thanks Sapphire!" Sapphire smiled faintly, gave me an approving nod, and headed inside.

~Connie sat down next to me. "What book do you have?" I questioned, peeking at the book's cover. "Oh this is a random book I picked out to read. I think it's a dystopia fantasy." I nodded a bit before questioning. "How can a book be dystopia and fantasy?!" I laughed a bit along with Connie. "Well, I guess the word, 'fantasy' falsely makes us assume a utopia book." I nodded, making a strawberry biscuit for Connie.

~I finished the strawberry biscuit and looked up at Connie. "A strawberry biscuit for the lady." I smiled, feeding Connie, trying not to laugh so I could hold it steady. Finally Connie managed to take a bite, laughing as hard as I was. "I think I can feed myself Steven." Connie smiled, taking the biscuit and taking another bite.

~I made myself one and began to devour it hungrily. Connie started to laugh when she looked at me. "What's so funny?" I said wiping my face and noticing it was covered in jam. "Oh." I said sheepishly, blushing. Connie laughed before bringing me into a short passionate kiss. "Steven," I heard Sapphire call to me. Quickly I broke the kiss and looked over at Sapphire and Ruby who were smirking. "We're ready Steven." I nodded, beginning to smile.

~Sapphire, Ruby, Connie, and I walked along the lines of the beach in that order. I was shoulder to shoulder with Connie. I grabbed Connie's hand and entwined my fingers with hers. Connie glanced at me and smiled, I returned the smile.

~I looked over at Sapphire and Ruby whispering stuff to each other. They were obviously fighting because of the cold shoulder Ruby was giving Sapphire. I frowned, which I knew Sapphire must've seen because she stopped talking to Ruby.

~We entered the Big Donut casually. Sadie stared at the Red and Blue gems, Ruby and Sapphire. "Oh uh, this is Ruby," I pointed to Ruby, "and this is Sapphire," I pointed to Sapphire. Sadie nodded and gave both of them a shy wave, Ruby nodded with a bored expression on her face, and Sapphire with an emotionless expression.

~"So what would you guys like?" Sadie said, trying hard , but failing, to hide the awkwardness. "Uh...four donuts please." I said, looking at all of them, expecting them to say their flavors. "Strawberry." Sapphire replied to my relief, Sadie nodded, writing it down. "Blueberry." Ruby mumbled. "Uh...chocolate for me." Connie said. "Same for me." I ended. "No accessories?" Sadie asked. "Accessories? On donuts?" Ruby questioned, still with an angry expression. "She means like sprinkles, and I think that's a no for all of us." I looked at them, to my relief no one denied it either.

~"Ok, LARS!" Sadie yelled behind her. Lars popped out from the back. "I can hear you perfectly fine when you're talking normal Sadie." Lars glared. Sadie ignored Lar's comment and handed him the piece of paper she wrote our orders on. "Go get those donuts." Sadie ordered, gingerly turning him around and pushing him back to the back. "You're order will be here in a sec." Sadie said, going back to reading some girl magazine.

~We all sat down at one of the tables, awkwardly silent. I glanced at Connie who gave me a desperate look. I shrugged not knowing what to say. "So, how'd you guys meet?" Connie questioned, instantly facepalming remembering they weren't together. "I'm sorry-", "Its fine Connie." Sapphire said, holding up her hand to stop Connie from apologizing. Connie nodded, slowly getting quiet again.

~"Here's your order." Sadie came up to us, dropping two brown paper bags. "Thanks Sadie." I said, handing her the money. "I almost forgot!" I laughed a bit. "I would say 'it's on the house', but being one out of three restaurants in this small town, I don't think we could afford that." Sadie laughed a bit too.

~After we finished the donuts we left the Big Donut. It was around 12:00pm, so there was still lots of time left to do more activities. Suddenly small snowflakes began to fall. I gasped, "Snow!" I cried, but quickly quieted down sheepishly. "Better go home now." Sapphire said. Connie and I nodded in approval, "Yeah, the clouds promise endless hours of snow for today." I stated, examining the clouds.
