Chapter 8

"Work already?" Maya whined out, she looked up at Josh who was still in his pajamas. "Why do I have to get up if you're still in your pajamas?" She asked sitting up a bit.
"Because my clothes are at my apartment, so we have to go there first." He said, walking to the kitchen. Maya got up and walked over to her suitcases and rolled them to the door. She stood there looking at Josh.
"Are we going to your apartment or not?" She asked. He smiled at her and walked to the door as she opened it for him. "uncle boings first." she said standing at the door. They both walked down the stairs to the street. Josh led the way down the street, he took a few turns until they arrived at the apartment.
"So, you live about 3 blocks away from your brother?" Maya asked as Josh opened the door.
"Yeah, it's not too close, but still not too far." He said, Maya laughed.
"It's pretty close though." He smiled at her. They walked up a flight of stairs until they got to Josh's floor. he walked down the hall until he got to his apartment. Once they walked in Maya looked at the place. There was a a little area with a tv and a few couches.. On her left was a that was relatively big for the apartment. She stood there staring.
"Are you coming in or not?" He asked her. She slowly walked into the apartment and put her suitcase by the door.
"Nice place." She said still looking around. "Do you have any roommates?" Maya asked walking around the apartment. Josh walked over to the door and shut it.
"Uh, my ex-girlfriend used to live here with me, but we broke up." Maya looked at him. "What?" He asked.
"You said you haven't had a real serious relationships,"
"Yeah so?" Josh asked.
"Well moving in with your girlfriend seems a little serious." Maya said looking at Josh. Josh just shrugged and walked through the hallway where there were four doors.
"This is the bathroom, this is my room, the guest room, and my office." He said pointing at each door.
"your office?" She asked mocking him.
"Well, it's were my computer and stuff is so yeah." Josh said.
"Hey, do you think I stay in your guest bedroom?" Maya asked leaning on the wall. Josh made a face.
"I thought you were going to stay with your mom and Shawn?" Josh said, Maya looked at her feet.
"Yeah, I kinda don't want to but it's fine." She said looking at the wall. Josh took his finger and moved her head to face him.
"I never said no." She smiled at the sound of the words. Josh opened the door to the guest bedroom, as soon as it was opened the smell of perfume was very evident. Maya looked around the . There were quite a few perfumes on the dresser. she looked over to the bed and saw a . She held it up for Josh to see it. He smiled at it.
"I remember that night," He then looked at Maya's face, which she was definitely disgusted. The smiled quickly slipped off his face. "At least I can say it's not mine." He said. She rolled her eyes and opened the closet, which was filled with clothes too. She then looked at Josh.
"So, this is all your ex's?" She asked. Josh shrugged.
"Well, yeah. I think she is coming back for her stuff but I don't know." He said. "Hey, we have work in," He looked at his watch. "30 minutes, do you think you can be ready in that amount of time?" He asked.
"Probably." She said grabbing her suitcase and setting it on the bed. He smiled at her. "What?" She asked confused.
"Well, wasn't it your 13 year old self's dream to live with uncle boing?" He asked laughing. Maya rolled her eyes and lightly pushed Josh out of the room. She shut the door and smiled to herself slightly.
When Maya was ready she walked out of the room and looked around for Josh.
"That looks good." He said behind her. She turned around to see him right behind her.
"God, Josh you scared me." She said lightly punching his arm. He smiled and walked to the door.
"Ready for work miss Hart?" He asked holding the door open for her.
"Yes I am Mr. Boing." They both walked out of the apartment.
When they got to the coffee hut Josh unlocked it and walked in, He then turned all the lights on. Maya looked around there was a door.
"What's that?" She asked pointing at the door.
"That's the bathroom, so when we're not working we can relax on the couch or... yep only the couch." Josh said. He walked over to the cash register. "How good are you at counting money?" He asked.
"Pretty good."
"Okay so You'll do that, I'll make the drinks." He said. Maya nodded.

Maya and Josh sat on the couch.
"Ugh, I don't like working." Maya groaned. Josh laughed.
"Well our shift is going to end soon so be happy about that." She sent him a sarcastic smile to him. Her phone vibrated in her pocket.
Hey, so wanna meet at the Matthews at 6? Charlie texted. Maya had to think about it.
That works. Maya looked at the clock, it was almost 3.
When the time came Maya and Josh left the Daily Blend hut. Maya made them rush to the apartment. She ran to the door and was waiting impatiently for Josh to unlock the door.
"Why are you rushing me?" Josh asked not unlocking the door.
"Because I have a date with Charlie I have to get ready for." She said to him. Josh smiled and unlocked the door. Maya went rushing into the apartment she ran to the guest bedroom and shut the door. She went searching through her clothes until she found a dress. She looked at the shoes that were in the closet and saw the perfect pair of shoes to wear.
"Josh can I wear some of these shoes?" She yelled in the room.
"Sure, I don't care." Maya went over and tried the white shoes on.
"perfect fit." she said to herself. She then did her hair and makeup and by the time she was done it was 5:24. She walked out of the room and saw Josh sitting on the couch watching TV. he looked up to see her and smiled.
"What do you think?" She asked a little nervous. He stood up and walked towards her. He just looked at with a loss of words.
"Y-you look... wow." He said to her, while she smiled.
"You really think so?" She asked him. He nodded.
"Of course Maya, You're... beautiful." He said to her.
"Thank you Josh." She said walking to the door.
"Hey Maya?" Josh said from behind her. She turned to face him.
"Yeah?"
"If Charlie ever hurts you I will mess him up." She laughed at Josh.
"He won't, He's a nice guy, I promise you that." She then walked out of the apartment and went to the Matthews. When she got there it was 5:57. She was about to knock when she remembered what Riley said about just coming in, so that was what she did. Riley was sitting on the couch with Charlie who was in a suit. Both of their heads turned when they saw Maya. Charlie stood up and smiled at her.
"Wow, you look great!" He said hugging her. She smiled as she hugged him.
"You ready to go on our date?" She asked, he then nodded. Maya waved at Riley.
"Have fun you two!" Riley said as they walked out. Charlie and Maya walked down the street holding hands together.
"So what are we going to do?" She asked. He smiled at her.
"Well first we are going to go to an Italian restaurant and then a walk in Central park." Maya smiled at Charlie and leaned on his arm. They walked in silence for the rest of the way.
Once Maya and Charlie were done with their meal and chatting, they started to walk to central park, which was about a block away. They laughed as they walked.
"So Maya, how was work?" He asked. She shrugged.
"It was fine, I don't like it though." She said. They walked some more until they got to a bench in the park. Maya was going to walk more when Charlie stopped her.
"What?" She asked looking at him. He smiled and looked around to see the sun was starting to set. He then started to get down on one knee and grabbed a box from his pocket and looked up at Maya.
"Maya Penelope Hart, Would you Marry me?"
