"Hello?"
"It's me, Tiffany. Please don't hang up, I have something important to tell you." He prayed that she would actually listen.
"Daniel? I purposely got a new number so you wouldn't be able to contact me anymore. Yet, you still have the audacity to fucking call me?" She couldn't believe him.
"It's really quick, please just hear me out."
"Look, I'll give you one minute. That's all." She didn't really want to hear any of it, but she was willing to acceed- just for a moment.
"Okay, I just wanted to tell you that I'm so sorry."
"No you're not."
"Dammit, I'm trying."
"That's not enough."
"What exactly can I do then?"
"For what?"
"To obtain your forgiveness."
"You see, that's the thing. I don't think there's anything you can do. Oh wait, I got it! Leave me the fuck alone."
"You know I can't do that. That's impossible."
"Nothing is impossible."
"Exactly, so there must be something I can do so you will forgive me."
"I never said it was going to be that easy. And your minute is up. Now do me a favor and never call again. "
