Surviving A-List Boot Camp

Chapter 9

Layla tried to look at her watch as she sprinted across the campus, her vision was very blurry, but somehow she read a number somewhere close to 8:12.

"Shoot!" Layla exclaimed "he's gonna hate me"

As she turned the corner an odd sight caught her attention, her boy, the boy she was going to meet, running as fast as he could with a picnic basket.

"Hey!" Layla yelled "it's me Layla!"

Zeke turned his head towards her and stopped running. He fixes his tie and looked at Layla, obviously admiring her fixe up look.

"You look beautiful!" He yelled from a distance, trying to get closer to Layla

Layla blushes ferociously, she had never been called beautiful by a guy. It's not that she was horribly ugly, she was just very shy, which made her a little socially awkward.

"T-thanks" Laya whispered "where should we sit

Zeke pointed to an old crooked willow tree in the corner of the campus. It was quite an ugly tree. The leaves were falling off, parts of the wood look petrified and bird crap scattered the ground around it. Zeke went over to the Tree, he sadly looked at the ground and threw a red and white plaid blanket over it. Layla awkwardly skipped over to him and smiled. He opened up the basket and pulled out two sandwiches and two lemonade juice pouches.

"I hope this is okay, I'm-I'm not really good at preparing food, or drinks, or dates." He said sadly

Layla giggled and started to chew her sandwich.

"So where are u from?" Layla asked

"Alabama! What about u?"

"Texas!"

"Oh..."

Layla curiously looked at him, she took another bite of the sandwich and dropped two tomatoes on Julie's dress. She yelled as the cold soggy fruit splashed onto her leg. Zeke choked down a giggle, he looked at her and smiled.

"Don't worry I...." He couldn't finish his sentence before a piece of lunch meat hit him in the face! "Hey!" He yelled and sent a piece of egg flying at Layla's face! Layla threw more food at him, and she was met with food flying from his direction. They kept this up until the curfew bell rung, sounding the alarm that says 15 minutes till lights out! Layla and Zeke started to rush at cleaning up, finally they started to head back to the dorms. Zeke walked Layla to her dorm. Yet stared at each other for about 2 minutes, very awkwardly... Finally Zeke grabbed Layla's arm and wrapped her in a big hug. Layla smiles awkwardly and slowly walked into her dorm.
