Chapter 4 - Return us or else!!!

When they walked into medical Spike looked around at the groups. "I am going to do one group at a time. Several of the temple staff are going to help me. The scanners are all non-invasive..." She glared at several just for good measure. "All you need to do is lay down on the scan beds and relax. It will take about fifteen minutes per person and we have six scanners to use. Unless anyone objects I am going to do this per group. First Alpha Dan if you don't mind?"

Alpha Dan moved forward even as he glanced at Daisy and Mari. "That is fine but for Mari I want Tigger to be with during the scan." He didn't want to say anything else about it since he knew that Tigger would help Mari relax. She was already looking scared.

Spike nodded. "That is fine. In that case there are going to be two scanners for others. I would like Lord Dan and Lady Pam if you wouldn't mind in the other two." She had a feeling it would be best for them to go through first.

After several moments of discussion, the ones selected stepped forward. Alpha Dan looked at Mari. "Go Little Wolf and Tigger will be with you. He will be scanned after you are." He had to give her a good hug and press a slight bit of his powers against her. She had resisted going to the Neko's ship for a scan but this was not going to be an option. *We are here for you Mari. Tigger will comfort you as will Daisy. Go now before you freak out.* Dan hoped that they might be able to figure out what was going on with Tigger as well.

Tigger wrapped his arms around Mari and urged her towards the room they were being directed to. "Let my purr help and relax you Mari. We are all here for you." *Give it a chance. They might be able to do something for both of us.* Tigger wasn't going to hold hope out for himself but for Mari he could since she hadn't been born infertile.

Lord Dan and Lady Pam traded looks and theirs eyes were dark with emotions. Both Mari's had rough lives and though theirs had found her mate it didn't change that she had been hurt. Dan was past wanting to kill someone when it came to his Mari since she had grown so much in the last few years. Geoff had been so damn good for her. If the other Mari could find her mate it might help.

It took some time before they were all processed though the scanners. Most of them had to wonder what the scanners were going to show related to who or what they were. In the case of Chiyo and her mother they were muttered at even though the scans had returned some information. Once done Spike had to grumble as well since she had a headache. "Goddess this is such a scrambled set of scans."

Even as Spike was grumbling at the results Melody was there. "If you will follow me I will show you to the room prepared for the meeting. I am Dancer's Liraque and admin assistant. Please follow me and there is plenty of food." She turned and led them out of the medical section and to a very large conference room. It was very rarely used since there was so little need for it. It had been cleaned and prepared for the meeting.

When they arrived Melody opened the doors and waved everyone in. She met Ray's eyes and almost laughed at his expression. He looked like he was waiting for the other paw to drop and also as if he had indigestion... Thankfully she kept a calm expression on her face as the others settled down at the tables. Once everyone was inside she closed the doors.

When she did there was a sudden presence and a shadow in a dark and enclosing robe covered it. "Ah, forgot something." When it spoke there was a rather hollow and dead sound to the voice. It moved to a rustle of maybe bones before a surge of power was felt and the individual vanished.

When the power surged there were a number of thuds, thunks, clacks, and even tings as items appeared on the tables. As the various people looked down Dancer, Golden, Ray, and some of the others almost stood. There was some jewelry, more than a few weapons, and other items.
