We charged into battle, the sound of weapon against weapon ringing through the caves. Skeletons approached this way and that, the girls and I fend off skeleton after skeleton, our fists, feet, and blades flying through the air. Kailee had the Scythe of Quakes wrapped in its canvas strapped on her back. Honestly, I didn't totally trust her with that. It was too important and she was too... reckless. Shouldn't I be the one with the scythe? It was my weapon, after all.
All of a sudden, Kailee was surrounded by skeletons. "Kailee!" Zinnia called from a few yards away, "Kailee, throw it here!" She held her arms in the air, waving them around.
I ran past Kailee, light on my feet, and over past Zinnia, in case she needed to toss it to me next. "Going long!" I cried, using the football term.
Zinnia tossed the scythe to me as skeletons toppled over her, causing her to squeak in surprise. I ran through the crowd of living bones, shoving some aside, snickering as they fell on the dirt. Glancing up, I noticed the scythe flying towards me. On tip-toe, I stretched my arms out as far as they would go. The weapon hit my fingertips, bounced a bit, and then landed in my palms. Yes!
"There's too many of them!" Kailee shrieked in between swipes of her sword.
"Let me handle it!" Jayne shouted, jumping out from nowhere, whacking a skeleton upside the head with her nunchucks. "Ka-pow!" she shrieked, "Wa-Blam!" with each word, she knocked another skeleton down.
These things were way too easy to fight. With the golden blade strapped to my back, I used my un-special one to kill a few skeletons... wait... can skeletons even be killed? I mean, they're already dead, right? I let my thoughts get the best of me as I hacked off the skulls of some more bone-butts.
"Hi-YA!" I heard Jayne cry from across the room. I observed her kick a skeleton in the face. Not bad...
Jayne
"Oh yeah!" I yelled as I punched a skeleton in the ribs, "Girl powa!"
All of a sudden, tons of skeletons were in front of me. One was swinging a mace, a bunch were lashing their swords and hatchets, and most were standing in a sort of circle formation. Then, miraculously, something really interesting materialized in my mind, laying out the scene in front of me. It was all so clear, it looked just like our training course!
"Girls!" I called, "It's just like the training course!" A smile crept up onto my freckled face as I lept into action. "Over the planks," I continued, puncing on skeletons, kicking them as I hopped past, "Dosge the swords..." I flipped over some skeletons waving their swords at me, but missing greatly. "And here come's that mega dumb dummy!" I squealed, running towards a skeleton, my nunchucks high in the air. "Ka-ching!" I shrieked happily, spinning around as I whacked the skeleton.
Suddenly, as I whirled around on the spot, my weapon twirling in the air around me, I noticed something. Spectacular electric blue sparkles were appearing around me, swirling around and around. Soon, they began to crackle with electricity and... lightning! The glitter formed into a swirling tornado, with me in the center as its energy source.
I watched through the bright blue mist as my cyclone overcame a bunch of skeletons.
"Spinjitzu," Kailee breathed, staring at me in awe. I winked at her, flashing Kailee my signiture 'ha ha' grin. Then, I realized that I still had my stupid hood on, and that the tornado was obscuring me from view... she couldn't see it. Damn...
"Jayne!" Kailee shouted out to me, "What's the key?"
I turned to face her. I laughed, "Haha, I'm just going through the motions of the training course!" I beamed, "This is what Sensei Sue must've meant when she said that we already know Spinjitzu!"
