Justin’s POV;

“Don’t worry, about a thing / Cause everything little thing / is gonna be alright.”

I opened my eyes slowly, back in the same room I was in just last week. Only this time when I looked I saw Lia sitting there curled up on the lofting chair, with a blanket over top of her. She looked so peaceful while she was sleeping. I just didn’t have the heart to wake her up. When my nurse came in, her smile was as bright as Time Square at night. I glanced at Lia again and placed my finger to my lips, telling the nurse to keep quiet. “I don’t want to wake her.” I whispered.

“The poor thing just went to sleep. Wouldn’t leave your side.” The nurse said, checking my drip. “I’m Cathy, your nurse.”

“Is she okay?” I asked.

“You’re the one in the hospital and you’re asking if she’s okay?”

“She’s all that matters to me right now. I don’t care about anything else.” I stated, honestly.

“She’s fine.” She smiled. “And, you are too. The bullet was removed and the piece of shit that put you in here is in jail.”

I laughed a little, “That’s good to hear.”

“The sweet girl was here the moment you were rolled into the emergency. She all but fought us to go into the room for surgery.”

“I don’t remember anything but her voice.”

“She did a lot of yelling.” Cathy chuckled. “The moment she saw you on the stretch she raced towards you, planting kisses on your face, telling you she loved you. You were conscious then. You were holding onto her hand so tight, I remember, your knuckles were white. When they pulled her away, she was crying so hard she collapsed.”

“We’ve been through this before, only she was the one that got shot before, not me.”

“You have an extremely good girl.” She said, patting my hand.

The knock at the door tore our gazes away from each other and I saw Josh standing there with his hands deep in his pockets. “Josh, hey.”

“I’ll leave you two alone.” Cathy said, walking out the room.

“Look Justin, I’m sorry.” He said.

“No, don’t be. I’m pretty fucking strong. I thought you got shot?”

“Yeah, I did. Mine just wasn’t as bad as yours. I was released yesterday.”

“What about Bruce? Jamie?” I questioned.

“Jamie’s gone…” He paused for a bit, I watched the pain fall in his eyes. “Bruce is on charges. He’s not talking about anything. When the police came he blamed everything on me, but Lia, Hunter and Kyle all covered for me.”

“She cares about you a lot.”

“About that…” he sighed. “I have to leave her alone, all I have ever done was cause pain in her life and I just wanted you to be able to tell her I’m sorry. I’m very sorry this happened to you too. You don’t deserve this, just like she didn’t deserve what happened to her. It wasn’t part of the plan, none of it. Bruce had his own agenda, but that doesn’t make what I did right either.”

“Josh, you can’t just leave her.”

“I have to. She knows how to find me if she needs me.” He smiled, looking over at her. I watched the field of emotions play on his face. I felt bad for the guy. He didn’t say anything else, he just flashed a quick smile and walked out the room. I didn’t even know what I could say to get him to stay.

“Justin?” Lia asked from the corner.

“Yes baby?” I asked, looking over at her.

Her eyes popped open, “Justin!” she squealed.

I moved over as she got in the bed next to me. “I believe you already said that.”

“I was so worried.”

“Have more faith in me.” I laughed, kissing the top of her head.

“Don’t make me leave you again…”

“Why would that even be a thought in my mind?”

“Because you’re stupid.” She said, looking up at me.

I leant down and planted a soft kiss on her lips. “You’re mine Lia.”

“And you’re mine Justin, forever and ever.” She whispered, cuddling closer to me.

“Yeah baby, forever.”

This is the end of Ever After, and the end of the Video Games series. There will be an Epilouge (of course) so that can give you a taste of whatever type of closure you may need. I loved writing this story and I hope that all of you enjoyed it because honestly out of all my fanfic characters, Justin and Lia are my fricking favorite because they just remind me of the notebook too much with their love and their fights but he loves her so much i just :(
