Epilogue

Lia’s POV;

I hooked my arm into my best friends as I walked down the aisle to the man I loved so very much. It’s been two years since the shooting and two years since the day I realized that losing someone over mistakes is not the way it should be. I looked up at Josh as he caught the tear that slipped out of his eye. My dad and my mom sat in the front row, with a small smile on their lips. Justin and I agreed that as soon as we graduated college we were getting married, and making it completely official and now here we were. All 300 of our guests all gathered together to watch us marry. When I got up to the alter, Josh stood with my brides maids because even though he fought me over how unmanly it was, he was my maid of honor. He’s been there through everything and even though we both made mistakes when it came to each other he was the best friend I’ve ever had in my entire life.

I grabbed onto Justin’s hand and he smiled shyly at me. “You look so handsome.” I mouthed to him.

“I can’t wait to take that dress off of you tonight.” He mouthed back, both of us trying to stifle a giggle.

I loved him so much.

Justin’s POV;

I watched all our family giggle and laugh and eat during our reception. I was holding onto Lia’s hand, tightly as if she might slip away. She looked even more beautiful in the short reception dress than she did in her wedding dress. I couldn’t wait to get her to our hotel back in Kauai; she’d have no mercy. I didn’t realize I was biting my lip until Josh started snickering at me. I sat up straight and held back a laugh myself. I sounded like a love struck teen. Who was I kidding? I was still a love struck teen when it came to this girl. I leaned over and whispered, “I love you.”

She blushed and turned to look at me, kissing me softly. “I love you even more.”

“Okay,” Josh said, tapping his glass with his spoon. “I have to give my cheesy little regards to the bride and groom so can we all settle down. Hey! That means stop flirting with the brides maids Kyle.” Josh laughed as Kyle’s cheeks flushed a deep red. The crowd laughed too. “Alright, I would like to start off with saying that Lia, I have never seen this big of a smile on your face since you first started dating Justin. I love that smile. You are my best friend and I am so happy that you’re happy with someone who would go to the end of the world for you, even if that does mean I have to be the maid of honor through it all.” The crowd laughed again. “You two really are made for each other. You two have always had the weirdest relationship but I know at the end of the day you two would do anything for each other. So I would like to make a toast,” he held his glass higher, “to the bride and groom for a very, very happy marriage.” As everyone clapped I realized that I too have something to say.

I let go of Lia’s hand and stood up. “I would like to start off by saying that I am so happy all of you could join us today on one of the best days of my life. It easily makes the top two on the list. The second on the list is the day I met you. I was a huge d-bag to you,” I chuckled, along with everyone else. “I was so sure of myself because I just knew that you wanted me. Boy, was I surprised.” Everyone laughed again. “Lia, you are one of the most stubborn female I have ever met in my life. You had me jumping through rings of fire just to get you to notice me, and when I did that you would shoot me down, and that’s what made me like you so much. You never put me on a pedastal and you brought me down to earth, and now look at us, we’re high school sweet hearts. You have made me one of the luckiest men on the face of this earth and every day I fall in love with you all over again, even harder. I never, ever want to lose you Lia, and every thing that we’ve been through has made me sure of that. So I’d like to make a toast to the love of my life, sitting right in front of me.”

I sat back down and she grabbed my face, kissing me hard. When she pulled away from me, she said, “I love you so much.” I just smiled and wiped the tear that slipped out her eye. Lia let go and stood up, “I’m guessing it’s my turn? Even though I don’t know how I can go after the two best men of my life went.” She laughed a bit and looked at me. “Justin, you are the air I breathe and the reason I wake up every morning. You are the smile I wear on my face, and the heart that beats in my chest. You are everything I have ever wanted and more. You give me more than I could ever dream of. You just came in and grabbed my heart with your hands, instantly making me yours.” I watched the tear slip out her eye, and I leant up to wipe it away, not being aware of my own tears. “I’m so grateful that God placed you in my life, to cherish and to love through sickness and in health, for better or for worse, whether we’re rich or we’re poor, I’m still going to love you as long as there’s a sun in the sky. I love the sun for days, the moon for nights and you forever. Justin, you are the best happily ever after any princess could ever have.”

“And you Lia, are the best happy ever after that could ever happen to me.”

The End.
