Two.

Lia’s POV;

I brushed my hair into a ponytail and grabbed my toothbrush and toothpaste from the medicine cabinet, starting to brush my teeth while Justin was in the shower. We had our early morning rendezvous, but I felt bad because I kept him from class. Luckily, Jamie was in that class and he could give me the notes, to give to Justin. Justin doesn’t like Jamie so much. He hates him actually. He doesn’t want me getting close to anymore guys because of what happened with Josh but that was over and done with. Jamie’s a good guy, I just know it. The shower cut off and broke me out of my thoughts. I spit in the sink and bent down to rinse my mouth out. I leaned back up and saw Justin staring dead at me in the mirror, making my heart start to race. “Damn it, Justin, you know I hate when you do that.” I pushed his wet body.

He laughed, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you baby, you know that.”

I frowned, trying to regain composure, “Hurry up, your next class is in 30 minutes, and you don’t need to miss this one.”

He pulled me close and leaned down to kiss me, but as he spoke his lips only brushed against mine. “Since when did you become my mom?”

I sighed, “I’m not trying to be your mom but, you know how these professors get.”

“Lia, you worry far too much.” He laughed, unwrapped his arms from my waist and walked out into the hallway. The girls on the co-ed floor stopped to stare, they all knew he was mine but that didn’t stop them from trying. He paused only for a brief moment and that was to look back at me and say, “Come on Lia.” I nodded and walked up to meet his pace. Justin grabbed my hand and intertwined his fingers with mine, kissing the back of my hand. “Stop giving them the death glare, you know I only want you.”

I couldn’t help but blush and look down, I did know he only wanted me, and I was so grateful for that.

But it also scared me at the same time.

Justin’s POV;

I got dressed as Lia sat on the bed watching me. She wasn’t talking so I knew something was wrong. “What’re you thinking?”

“Nothing.”

“One worded answers and you expect me to believe that?”

“Yeah.”

“I’m not going to class until you tell me what’s wrong.” I snapped.  She winced a bit, which made me regret my tone. I knew I had nothing to be mad about but when Lia was quiet, she’s usually thinking of things I don’t want to mention. “Seriously baby, just talk to me.”

She smiled a little and stood up, I thought she was making her way towards me, but she didn’t. She walked over to her drawer and pulled out a pair of shorts and socks. “Nothing, I’m just going to go do something for the day.”

“Like what?”

“Probably go off campus for a bit. I might go to the movies or the mall…who knows?” she muttered, pulling on her shorts and grabbing her vans from the ground. She tucked in my shirt, which she was wearing, and tugged on her shoes.

“You can’t wait until I get out of class? You know I don’t like the fact of you going out alone.”

She walked up to me and she got so close I thought she was going to kiss me, but instead she just said, “Since when did you become my dad?” and slipped from my grasp. I watched her smirk at me from over her shoulder and grab her bag for the handle behind the door, and walk out of the room.

I couldn’t help but feel stupid.
