Chapter 5

Victoria's Pov

When I get back to my room I can finally breathe again. It seems like every time I'm near Louis my breathing seems to stop or slow down and I have no idea as to why. Louis isn't coming to get me for awhile, so since I have a chance I'm going out to the balcony connected to my room. Once I get outside I gasp, the view is incredible, the balcony looks over a small canyon that leads to a valley with two small waterfalls, with mountains on every side of it. My room must be on the back of the castle. because I never saw this at dinner last night or with Liam and Ashton this morning.

I walk back inside and sit on my bed. Thankfully I did remember to grab my ipod and head phones. I stick them in and lay back on the bed. I stare up at the ceiling thinking of what might happen in the future. I can't deny that Louis is very attractive. Whenever he walks into a room everyone's eyes are on him. If only Tammy was here to help me figure out what is going on. I've barely been here a day and my thoughts are mainly about Louis, and who he really is. I'm especially curious about this curse that Zayn mentioned. Before I can think anymore about it, I fall asleep.

I'm woken up by some one shaking my shoulders. I open my eyes to see Louis standing over me. I'm oddly happy see his face after waking up. "I came to get you for lunch and then a walk around the garden?" Louis asks. "Oh, right." I say while swinging my legs over the side of the bed. "I hope you like tuna salad sandwiches?" Louis said. "Yea" Why was I so nervous about talking to him now. We leave my room and head to the dining hall. "Do you mind if we take our lunch as a picnic instead?" Louis asked as he ran his fingers through his hair. "Sure, sounds fun actually." "Really?" He looks excited that I agreed. "Yea, sunshine would be incredible right now."

So as we were walking down the hall to the dining room Louis stopped in front of a door. When he opened it I could tell it was a closet. Louis grabbed a basket and a red checkered blanket. "Now we just have to stop by the kitchen to pick up the food." Louis said. "Ok, lead the way." We walked into the kitchen where Niall and Luke were fixing the sandwiches. "Louis! The food is already prepared and wrapped up for your picnic." Niall said once he noticed Louis and I standing there. I look to Louis to see a small smile on his face looking back at me. "How did you know I would agree to this?" "I just had a hunch is all." He smirked and looked back to Niall, who was packing our basket that Louis had set on the counter when we walked in.

"See you boys later!" Louis called out to them as he ushered me out the door. He then led us down a hall the leads to two double doors made of glass. We walk through the doors and I can breathe again. Being inside this stuffy place can take a toll on someone who isn't used to it. "Like the view?" Louis asked. "Yes, the view is amazing! I noticed it when I went out on the balcony in my room. Which I never thanked you properly for, so thank you." I give him a small smile. he still frightens me a little, but he hasn't harmed me in any yet. "Your welcome, I may be a beast but I still have a heart you know. I thought we could get to know one another some more while we are out here." He said

We walked some more until we came to a clearing that has a view of the waterfalls. Louis spread the blanket out and sat down. He patted the spot next to for me to sit, but I sat in front of him instead. I've noticed that whenever I'm close to him I get all jittery, and my stomach gets all tingly. I'm not sure if its a good thing or bad. "So Victoria how old are you?" Louis asks. "I'm 20, how old are you?" "24. When is your birthday?" "October 12, when's yours?" "December 24. Favorite color?" "Brown, you?" "I like dark red. Do you play any sports?" "I used to play soccer, but I twisted me knee and now I can't play anymore. What about you?" "I like soccer but we call football. Do you miss your family?" I was a little surprised he asked that. "Yes I do. Though I was young when they died, I still remember everything that I did with them. My dad was my best friend. I guess you could say I was a daddies girl. My aunt says I remind her a lot of my dad with my personality and my mom from my looks." I shift a little to get more comfortable. "Then your mother must have been very beautiful. Your beautiful as well." Louis says. My head shoots up to look at him ad he's just staring at me. "Yes she was, thank you. But I tend to disagree with that."

"Why do you say that?" "I just don't like how I look. My skin is pale, y eyes are a dull blue and my hair is a vibrant red. I just don't think it looks good for me." "Well I think you can pull it off quite brilliantly. Your eyes are not dull, and like I said red is my favorite color. You have only been here for two days and yet I find myself intrigued by you."

Louis's Pov

I can't believe I'm actually telling her this. Yes she intrigues me but I never wanted to admit this to her, at least not yet. "So do you want go for a walk now?" I ask after I notice that we had finished our food a bit ago. "Sure, can we walk by the lake?" she asks. "Yea, we might discover some more caves." "More caves, you mean there's caves around here?" "Yep, and their all different inside of them. Only I haven't had a chance to explore them lately. Shall we go then?" "Yes, please!" We start walking I lead to the lake where we see fish jumping and come across frogs and other creatures. She doesn't jump like other girls do, instead she peers at them until they jump back into the water. "Louis, can I ask you something?" "It depends on what it is first?" "Well when Zayn was fixing my dress he said that you don't joke like you used to. Why is that?" I try to control my temper, it surprises me that she doesn't know, I don't want scare her. "That's a question for another time. Lets go over here." I lead her over to one of the caves I discovered awhile ago. 'But-" "I will tell you just not right now maybe when I can trust you a little more, but for now just don't worry about it okay?" "Okay." She timidly.
