Jackson POV

Should I go? Or should I stay? This girl left me on the road and was being a bitch to me at the diner. Miss goody goody should get herself out of this one. I looked around for another spot and began reversing.

Carolina :"help!" she screamed and I knew I was the only one who could hear her over the music that was blasting.

I took one look at her and this time she wasn't wearing a scold, she looked helpless as tears poured down her cheeks. This was my halo girl, the one person I couldn't get out of my head the entire week since we've met. Shit I'm getting involved now, sighing I ended my back and fourth contemplation. I parked the car and ran over there and pulled the jerk off. "Pick on someone your own size!" I sent my fist flying. He groaned then swung his fist at me, the adrenaline began to build within me and I launched at him.

Carolina: "Stop!" She screamed.

I was too far gone with rage, not only because he tried to assault her but the high I was on right now felt exhilarating; this is the feeling I've been searching for, it's been a whole week of pent up anger and now I had an outlet.

Carolina: "You're going to kill him stop!"she screamed once more.

Carolina POV

I ran towards the bond fire and screamed for help, when I finally  got some attention, I lead the crowd back to the side of the road where I previously was. The stranger and Gabe were still brawling on the ground. They both had bloody noses and mouths. The help I had seeked in hopes to stop them turned into a ring of people cheering them on. I took my phone out and dialed the cops.

The sound of police sirens wailed as they were now insight and blocked the road with their cars. The crowd scattered and people jumped into their vehicles in hopes to make an escape through the tall grass.

Gabe and the stranger was still fisting each other on the ground too busy to notice anything. I stood there knowing I would get in trouble, I could've made a run for it like everyone else, but I didn't move, I just couldn't. The police caught six people mostly girls in that batch and shoved them in their cars. Sheriff Baker walked up to the three of us.

Sheriff Baker: "Gabe!" He shouted.

Immediately Gabe stopped at the sound of his Dad's voice and tried to back away but the stranger only took that as an opportunity.

Sheriff Baker tased the man who was still assaulting his son. He pulled the man off Gabe and cuffed him with the help of another Officer. He was placed in the Officers car and strangely he made no attempt to move or struggle. He just sat silently looking straight ahead with blood dripping down his face.

Sheriff Baker:" Gabe what happened here?" He said sternly.

Gabe:"Dad I...I..."

Sheriff Baker:" Carolina you have anything to say? Since you're the one who called?" He said eyeing me.

Gabe: " you called my Dad, Carri?" He spat blood to the side.

"Well I don't know how to explain?" I muttered with tears welling up in my eyes. "Yes, I called you guys wouldn't stop fighting and it could've gotten worst Gabe!"

Gabe: "She was forcing herself on me and I ... I got carried away and I just I ...I don't know we started arguing and he bardged in like he wanted to play hero. Carolina knows I'd never hurt her, we've been together six months now and we've known each other forever". He looked at me for confirmation to his lies.

"Don't lie Gabe, I did not force myself on you." I defended myself.

Sheriff Baker: "Fuck!" He slightly looses his composure as he took his hat off and smoothes his hair back in frustration.

Gabe: "You're are obviously intoxicated Carolina because you were all over me. Dad ask Toby or Liam they'll tell you! You have to believe me... I'd never do anything to ruin my football scholarship." He said eyeing me.

"I haven't been drinking anything but a soda and you know it, of course your friends are going to lie for you. You know what forget it, I just want to go home." I folded both my arms, tears still cascading down my face.

Sheriff Baker:" I'm afraid you're coming downtown with us Carolina. You all need to be checked for alcohol and drugs it's my job these simple spot checks, not to mention this is private property. You kids carry crack and weed to these illegal events and you're not yet 21 years old so you need a breathalyzer test. Plus an allegation of sexual assault must always be taken serious even if it's my son, young lady" he smiles but it doesn't reaches his eyes. There was nothing sincere about his intentions.

"Sheriff Baker how could you stand here and say these things about me. You've known me my whole life." I pleaded with him.

Sheriff Baker:" get in the car Carolina and Gabe follow us in your car." I can tell he knew I was telling the truth but his actions were entirely different. He was protecting his son.

I sat in Mr. Bakers cop car, I watched the tow trucks take the remaining cars away, including my Mom's old beat up beetle. I have never been in such a predicament in my entire life. I was so screwed, my Dad is going to kill me. The stranger sat quietly in his own thoughts. I took the time to really admire him even with the blood stains he was ridiculously handsome. Beautiful even. Since the day I drove away leaving him stranded, I kept thinking about him more than I should. His piercing green eyes and full pink lips haunted me.

"I'm sorry" I whispered in the dark. But he didn't even acknowledge me, he just sat there like a statue looking out the window with his hands cuffed behind him, he inhaled sharply. This wasn't his first rodeo I could tell by how eerily calm he was.
