Chapter four

Aluna PoV
I sat against the wall crying. This was not the life I wanted to live. I held tight to the picture of my mum and dad. If only I could remember them. My big, fat tears ran down wetting my golden locket. I kissed my finger and rub it over the faces of my beautiful mum and handsome dad. I shut the lid and looked at my reflection in the top of the locket, I looked a mess. My sparkly blue eyes had lost their shine, they were red and puffy and droplets of water clung onto my eyelashes.

My foster carer yelled my name and I reluctantly stood up. I dried my tears and shoved the locket in my pocket.

I couldn't believe it! My heart leaps with joy, my foster carer is holding a letter WITH MY NAME ON IT! I have never received my own letter. I snatched the letter out of my carers hands and ran up to my so called room to open it.

"What? Hogwarts? Dumbledore? What is this? Oh, it's just a stupid scam. Matches my life really." I whispered softly to myself
Knock Knock
"Come in! " I shouted gruffly,
"What was that letter about Aluna?" My stupid overweight foster carer asked,
"Just some stupid scam about this Hogwarts place and a man called Dumbledore!" I shouted aggressively.

She stared at me weirdly. Her eyes opened wide. It was getting awkward. She was just staring and staring mouthing over and over again 'Hogwarts'.

"Oh.. It's... It's.. Yeah it's a scam.. " She said quickly, snatching the letter out my hand and scuttling out the room.

I couldn't sleep. Images danced in my head and tears dripped down my face. I had that feeling Helen, my foster carer, was hiding something. And Hogwarts, I was sure my mum said something like that when I was younger .

"Am I dreaming?" I asked myself in a soft wisper tone. I woke up to a loud 'BANG!' and the deep voice of someone yelling: "Is she 'ere " Helen sniffed "ALUNA!"

I felt small and meek against this loud bellowing voice , I quickly tied my not brushed, long, blonde hair into a bun and walked to where the man was.

"Um...yes"I said quietly.
"Well ya got ya 'ogwarts letter are ya ready to go then" He stares down at me from his bushy brown beard.
"Hogwarts?" I asked puzzled.
"Don't ya know , you're a witch Luna"he said.
Who is this man? I am a witch, is he mad? This must be that stupid Dumbledore man.
"Um...Dumbledore, what are you on about?"I asked really confused.
"Dumbledore!", He laughed , "I'm Hagrid , Hogwarts games keeper "

Hagrid took me to the living room and told me all about Hogwarts and my parents , apparently my mum was a witch in Hufflepuff and a great chaser on the quidditch team and my dad was in Gryffindor, though he didn't much care about quidditch, and got very high scores in many subjects. And I, Aluna Coral, was a witch! Can you believe it?

I was starting Hogwarts, which turned out to be a school of witchcraft and wizardry, this September. Hagrid was coming to collect me tomorrow at 12:00 to take me to Diagonal Alley to buy my robes and spell books. I couldn't wait! This would be where my life began.

It was nothing like I had ever seen before, people of all sizes huddling around with black flowing capes.

"Hagrid!" I shouted , "this is my life, it's where I belong".
Hagrid chuckled and smiled with his shiny eyes gleaming bright and beautiful.
He was such a big tall oaf but he had the kindest of hearts and Aluna suddenly realized her life had begun.

When Aluna arrived back at it he orphanage she was more lively and happy then ever before.

Night wore on and the stars came out.  Aluna stared at the blacky grey owl that perched on her window sill .
"I'll call you moonlight " she whispered softly to the owl.
