Chapter three

Clara POV

I sat in my room, crying. My tears were draining my pillow, like it was nothing to go through. The kids from school bullied me again. They called me a fat. They called me ugly. They said it like it was nothing, like this was everyday business. It didn't matter anymore. They said this everyday. I didn't even bother to tell my parents, what could they do about it? My life was useless, they made sure I knew that. Whenever we had to work in pairs or in groups I was alone. The teacher always let it happen, because she didn't care about it. I worked best, but I was 'dumb' and 'didn't do anything right.' I always had A's on my tests and my work was always the best of class. But nothing of that mattered, because I was an outcast.

I heard a soft ticking sound on my window. I looked up and saw a vague thing what looked like a bird. My tears blurred my vision, so I couldn't see that well. I dried my eyes with the hem of my sleeve. Now I saw what it was. It was an owl. It had a letter tied to it's paw. When I looked closely I could see the blurred green ink spelling my name. Is this a joke? Who would send me a letter. No one liked me. But even though I didn't believed it, I opened the window. I couldn't let the poor owl stand outside with the rain pouring down and the air freezing it's bones. It hopped inside and put it's paw out. I untied the rope that kept the letter with my name on it to it's body. I stroked it's soft, wet head. I grabbed a towel from my closet and put it on my desk, a bit folded open, so the owl could warm itself a bit. I ripped open the top of the envelope and got out the letters inside. The fist letter said:

" HOGWARTS SCHOOL of WITCHCRAFT and WIZARDRY

Headmaster: Albus Dumbledore

(Order of Merlin, First Class, Grand Sorc., Chf. Warlock, Supreme Mugwump,

International Confed. of Wizards)

Dear Miss Summers,

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment.

Term begins on 1 September . We await your owl by no later than 31 July.

And the second said:

" HOGWARTS SCHOOL of WITCHCRAFT and WIZARDRY

UNIFORM

First-year students will require:

1. Three sets of plain work (black)

2. One plain pointed hat (black) for day wear

3. One pair of protective gloves ( dragon hide or similar)

4. One winter cloak (black, with silver fastenings)Please note that all pupil's clothes should carry name tags.
