Disclaimer: These are all my personal thoughts and we may disagree.
So...as some, maybe all, of you guys know, Tzuyu is being blamed for something that I believe is the stupidest thing ever.
For those who don't know/aren't clear on the topic, Tzuyu had been given a prop (A Taiwanese flag) to hold in a show. And some freaking guy (Not 100% sure on his name) decided to call Tzuyu out and say that she's Taiwanese-Independence supported. And once the media saw this, JYP's stocks went down, Tzuyu's name has been getting censored in Chinese social medias, JYP had cancelled her activities in China, and Tzuyu had to post some apology message on YouTube.
Now. This whole thing seem awfully stupid. First of all, she was GIVEN the flag. Second of all, she wasn't like "Omg Taiwan is the best and its freaking better than China." and like so on. I don't even understand why China has to go crazy over this?!
It seems as if they just went off the guy's statement and didn't bother to look at the broadcast because she was just given the flag to show that she was born and raised in Taiwan. Momo, Sana and Mina had Japanese flags!!
Another thing I don't understand is JYP family. JYP is known to be a family and that all the stars and trainees are basically one huge family. But in the video, Tzuyu looked scared to death, all by herself. Lots of people in the comments of the video were saying that JYP should of stood next to her, and well I agree. He should've been there and stand next to her. She's just a 16 year old, who's dream was to sing and dance on stage. But now she's pulled into some political crisis and is forced to apologize for pretty much doing nothing. Honestly, I feel like JYP himself had messed up more than Tzuyu ever did. Come on JYP. What's the point of you and your idols saying "JYP Family" when it doesn't even seem like there is one anymore. Seriously smh.
