Just Begun

Chapter 17

I feel the vibrations of the water as it falls and I hold my hands out feeling the water. I close my eyes, willing it to gather together as the vibrations hold it up. The clouds of the faucet and I am the controller of it, the manipulator of every little droplet that falls.

I feel the electricity from electro move around through the air. His electricity leaving a trail and I feel his silent challenge.

"Come out, wherever you are. Sparkles, I know you're watching." Calling out to him, answering his challenge. I have the water in a ball at my side and I dodge a strike. "Oh, so close but so far away. You're gonna have to try better!" I sing those words, chuckling under my breath as he gets angry. "Guys, hold on. I'm gonna shake things up a bit. Hopefully, you're guys will be startled." I see them brace from the corner of my eye and I hold my hand to the ground, feeling the vibrations and making them go haywire.

The ground quakes, and I notice the heroes stumble a little and the villains fall. Electro, not being able to stay in the unstable outlets of electricity, pops out of one of the fallen cables.

I stop shaking the ground, shooting the water and making him shake, until he hits the ground. He falls, blacking out because he's hurting himself. I notice Bucky shot out the back of Doc Octopus's suit and he's fallen.

Green Goblin is taken down by the assassins and Rhino was taken care of earlier. I let out a sigh, before hearing a crack and noticing the large apartment building that Bucky is on is having problems with its structure. Cries sound from inside and I zip up, grabbing Bucky and flying him back to the ground. The cement structure starts to slip and I fly up, holding it.

"Jezebel!" Bucky shouts and the building starts to slip more. I let out a yell, shoving it back a little.

"Get them out!" He looks hesitant. "Bucky, please!" I cry as the building slips more and the cement where my hands are holding it, cracks around my fingers. He sprints inside and I hear his rushed breathing, along with the cries of children. It slips down even further and I hear him stumble, but continue on. He bursts through multiple doors, ushering men and women down stairs.

I watch with X-ray vision, hoping for them to make it out alright.

The building shakes as it slips and Bucky stumbles in his steps. He continues rushing men, women and children down flights of stairs. A cry sound from above me and I look through the walls to notice a baby left in a crib.

"James, there's a baby in a room 31 on the fourth floor." He stumbles in his steps, turning up the stairs and sprinting quickly. The cement around my hands break more and fall to the ground below. He grabs onto the railing to hold himself steady as he climbs, it's easy for me to notice that he's weary as he stumbles up the stairwell.

I let out a grunt as more weight of the building is set upon me. The cement cracking along my hands more and glass falls from above me, some hitting my head and falling to the ground below.

Looking through the walls, I notice Bucky scoop up the child from its crib and I know he won't get out before the building falls.

"Bucky, you're gonna have to jump! This is coming down, whether I can hold it or not!" He looks down at the kid. "I promise, I'll catch you before land. I know you can easily make it, but I can't try it with the kid." He takes a deep breath and I move upwards, holding the building with my shoulders. He takes a few steps back and smashes through the window and I hold my hands out, catching him with waves of vibrations and I lower him to the ground. "Go Bucky!" I yell for him to run as far away he can, my ears pick up on the sound of cracking. I notice the crack spread the entirety of the building. From bottom to top, it's splitting and becoming heavier on my shoulders.
