Chapter 15 part 1

Luana's P.O.V.
Calum took me home last night and I went straight to bed. I was finding it hard to hide from Luke what happened last night. But if he knew, he wouldn't take it very well.

I woke up the next morning around 10, and got dressed in black leggings and a teal, slightly cropped tee shirt with a little pocket to the left. The front door opened and I could hear multiple voices. Normally, I wouldn't notice this but the boys were supposed to be at the recording studio today. Quickly brushing out my hair and putting on some mascara, I went downstairs to see who it was. In the living room there was a boy my age with his parents and my parents as well.

"Oh! There you are sweetie, come sit and meet your neighbors!" My mom smiled and patted the spot next to her on the couch. I sat next to her and tried to discreetly get a look at the boy sitting across from me. He was cute, dark brown hair styled in a quiff, bright green eyes, tan skin, and a little tiny bit of freckles. His mother was next to him, she had red hair and green eyes, freckles. His dad had tan skin and dark brown hair, green eyes. He looked just like both of them.

"So, you guys know this is my daughter, Luana." My mom introduced me. "Well of course we remember you! You were so little the last time we saw you.. You and Sam were best friends. I'm Amber, and this is my son, Sam. That's my husband, Thomas" the lady with red hair, Amber, smiled. Okay so, I knew these people? And Sam was my best friend, weird.

I nodded and smiled. I didn't really know what to say, so I thought I'd just let them do the talking.

"You look so different" Sam said under his breath and laughed quietly. Not sure if that was a good or bad thing, but before I got to say anything Sam's father grabbed his arm and said in a low voice, "I told you to stay quiet." Nobody noticed because they were all making conversation, except me. Thomas wouldn't let go of Sam's arm so I stood up and said, "hey Sam, wanna go swimming?" Bold move, I know. But it worked.

He nodded and stood up, getting out of his fathers harsh grip and I led him to the back yard, going through the back gate and shutting it behind us. "So... Uh, we don't have to go swimming I was just tryi-" I began to explain but Sam started taking over me.

"Yeah- uh. I know, you were just trying to help. Thank you." He said and looked at the ground, scuffing his feet against the pavement. I smiled and said, "well that's what 'best friends' are for, right?" We both started laughing at that comment. "Sorry about my mom, she's a bit enthusiastic" Sam apologized. "But we were pretty great friends.. When you left I didn't know what to do. We were so young and I had no other friends but you because everyone else was scared.. Of my dad."

That's when I remembered something. "Oh my god- Sam? Sam! I remember all of the mud pies we made and that one time I dared you to eat a worm and you actually did it. Also, 'Sam the Man' saving 'Princess Lu' from the tower of evil" we both laughed hysterically for a couple of minutes until we were both out of breath. "Gosh, I missed you so much Lu." Sam said and quickly pulled me into the worlds tightest hug. I smiled and hugged him back, "I missed you too."

Neither of us bothered to pull away from the hug, it was 10 years worth of lost hugs. The gate opened and Calum came through it. "There you are, I've been looking for you, we just got home about 5 minutes ago." He said as I stepped away from Sam and Calum pulled me into a hug. My cheeks heated up quickly and I pulled away from him. "Uh- Uhm, Sam and I are going to go upstairs, I'll see you later" I said awkwardly. "Okay? Uhm, I guess I'll see you later Sam?" Calum questioned and Sam nodded. Grabbing Sam's hand I took him upstairs to my room.

"Sorry about that" I said and looked at Sam, he had a smirk across his face and his arms crossed, tapping his foot. Oh no.. My cheeks turned pink and I got super nervous. "What? Why are you looking at me like that? Stop!" I said. Sam laughed. "So, what's going on between you and Cal?"
