RED

My story: Chapter 1

The Names Rosalette Marie Hampton, but here at the agency everyone calls me RED. Why you ask? It manly has to do with this red rose pendant that I wear. My mother and father gave it to me on my 8th birthday before.... they died. They died protecting me, and therefore I owe it to them to find the man who killed them and..... kill him.

*flashback*

" Happy Birthday too youuuu!" both my parents finished singing to me while setting the beautifully decorated cake in front of me. "Make a wish!!" My best friend Ryan yelled to me. I closed my eyes, and wished that at that moment everything could stay like that forever. I open them and blow my candles out. " YAAAY!" everyone cheers, which only includes my mom, my dad, Ryan, Uncle Donny, and his wife Sheryl. As soon as my mom cuts into the cake there is a loud banging coming from our front door. The adults stare at each other. "Sheryl take the kids up stairs, please." Uncle Donny says sternly. She nods and grabs our hands and pulls us up stairs. "Okay kids we are gunna hide in here," she says pointing to the closet, then opening it she then pulls the clothes aside when she does there, reveals another door in which I've never seen before. she types in the numbers and pushes us in. Soon i hear the door to the room we are in open. "Mom..." I whisper. "Yes sweety it's me. Im so sorry, but your gunna go with Uncle Don and Aunty Sheryl, you arent safe anymore.." and just as she says that my Uncle comes in. " We dont have much time we have to go.." he says. "Okay, here take it,"she says handing a beautiful black box to me."Dont forget us. Happy Birthday rosie. I love you." she says backing out. "MOM!!!!" I scream, as soon as I scream I hear a gunshot and my mother fall to the floor. My uncle picks me up and runs out of the back way. As soon as we are outside Aunt Sheryl is backing out of the driveway with Ryan in the back. We run towards the car and get in. We drive off, leaving everything behind.

I decide to open the box my mother had given me, when I do a sheet of paper falls out onto my lap. I unfold the paper and read what is written on it.

Rosalette,

You will always be our little bundle of joy, and our little rose. We thought since red is your favorite color, and knowing that red symbolizes strength, beauty, and power. We thought this was just perfect. We love you Rosie. Happy Birthday.

I then looked inside the box and there, in the box was a beautiful red rose pendant.

*End of Flashback*

I remember sitting there the whole night admiring the beautiful pendeant. From there on I knew what i had to do.

It is now my 18th birthday, exactly 10 years from my parents vanished from the world but most importantly... My life.

I turn off my engine and step out. I walk over to where my parents now lay. "Hey, mom... and dad. another year huh?" I say kind of chuckling while sitting in front of their graves. "Oh umm.. i brought these" i say crawling over and putting flowers around them. I sit there for an hour or two just talking to them about whatever. I look at my watch and it reads 2:30. "Well, guys I guess I better get going. I'll see you soon. I love you guys." I say, then walk off and go home.

When I get home I am greeted by my Aunt Sheryl. "Hey, sweety. Happy Birthday." she says embrassing me in a hug. "Thanks." I say hugging her back. " Did you.... you know.." she says, and i catch on. " Yeah i visited." I say feeling a little uncomfortable. "Oh, Okay. Well, Ryan and Don are already at the training facility'. She says changing the subject. I nod. "Im just gunna go and change then i'll be on my way." I say to her. "Alright, see you later!" She says walking back into the living room.

I change quickly and head over to the SAI (Special Agents Industry) building. I feel as if its too quiet, and decide to put on some tunes, and hum all the way there.
