Rosy walked back to her friends, holding Evee in her arms. It was falling asleep since is was being held like a baby. "You all found one?" asked Professor Oak. "Yep!" replied the girls in unison. The professor nodded and pulled something out of his pocket. "What's that?" asked Violet. The Professor handed each of them a small red box. "These are your Pokédex's! They'll tell you about the Pokémon you catch and see." he explained. The girls opened up their Pokédex's and began looking up facts about Evee. Rosy put her Evee on the ground and opened up her Pokédex.
Her eyes widened as she heard Evee's summary: "Evee- the evolution Pokémon. Evee is able to evolve into 8 different Pokemon, depending on the environment it is in, its personality, and how strong its bond is with its trainer is. It can evolve into Flareon, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon, and Sylveon." Rosy saw her friends eyes widen with surprise. Violet and Bloom gasped as they listened to the entry. "Whoa..."
Professor Oak nodded with approval and led them back into his lab. "Where do we go now Professor?" Bloom asked. The Professor handed her a large paper. "Goodness I almost forgot to give you your map! You can't get anywhere without it!" he shouted. Rosy took a step away from professor. Wow... He pretty unprofessional for a professor, she thought. She heard her Evee whimper as the professor laughed loudly. "Shhh. It's ok." Rosy whispered as she stroked Evee's ears. Amy looked at the professor and said, "Sooo... Do we go now? Or just stay?" Bloom glared at Amy and elbowed her; but, Professor Oak laughed and said, "No no it's fine! You should get going!"
He led Rosy and her friends to the front of the lab. "Oh and one more thing." he said. Rosy watched as the professor pulled four Pokéballs from his pocket. Rosy took them and handed them to her friends. "Are these the Pokéballs for Evee?" Violet asked. The professor nodded. Rosy glanced at her Evee and said, "I'm keeping mine out." Her Evee squealed with delight and jumped around. "Alright then, your all set! Good luck and best wishes to you and your Pokémon." said the professor. Bloom turned around and waved goodbye. "Bye Professor! Thank you!!!" Rosy and the others said the same and they continued down the road to the next town.

"Ugh!!! How much farther until we get to Viridian City!?!?!" Violet yelled. Everyone stopped in their tracks as they saw her dramatically fall ground, along with her Evee. Amy groaned and put her Evee down. "We've only been walking for 20 minutes!!!" she shouted as she yanked Violet from the ground. Rosy saw Bloom roll her eyes. "Come on guys. We spent half the day at the professor's lab. Maybe we should camp out tonight?" suggested Rosy. The girls nodded in agreement and Rosy's Evee whimpered. She looked down and saw her Evee shiver at the suggestion of sleeping outside. Violet looked at Evee and said, "Is your Evee ok? It looks scared."
Rosy pick Evee back up. "Yeah. Its fine; but, it is really shy... and scared of most things." she repiled. Amy walked over and pet Evee. "It'll toughen up after a few days. Its just getting to know us." shesaid happily. "I put my Evee in its Pokeball before we left." Bloom said. "I thought it would be better, since it is going to get dark in a while." Rosy, Amy, and Violet nodded in agreement. The sun was starting to sink, and in only a few more hours it would be nighttime. Bloom smiled and looked down at the map. "Come on then. The map says that there's a campsite up ahead near the river."
