Violet felt nervous as she glanced at Bloom. This was only a practice battle but her heart was pounding. It'llbefine! Besides, Evee, Magikarp, andIaregreatpartners! Suddenly, she felt someone shove her. Violet turned around and saw Bloom standing there smiling. "You ready to battle?" she asked. Violet squealed and nodded. "I'M SOOO NERVOUS BUT I'M ALSO SUPER EXCITED!!! I CAN'T WAIT!" Violet shouted while jumping up and down. Her Evee did the same. Bloom laughed and said, "Come on then! Amy and Rosy are waiting." Violet called her Evee and ran after Bloom.
Amy and Rosy were sitting on the log at the edge of the field talking. "Who's gonna be the referee?" Violet asked. Amy got up and said, "I could be the referee!" Bloom laughed and so did Violet and Rosy. "I can't really yell unless I really want to. Soo... Yeah! Amy is the referee!" Rosy said casually. "Ok then! Let's battle!" Violet said to Bloom. Violet let her Evee go first. "Ok Shaymin lets practice!" Shaymin nodded and ran to the battle field. Violet followed her and took her place on the other side of the field as well.

Amy stood in between the two and began the match. "Evee let's go!" said Violet. Her Evee growled and jumped onto the battle field; and, Bloom sent out Shaymin. Here we go, thought Violet. She smiled and said, "Evee! Use Tackle!" Evee nodded quickly and launched itself at Shaymin. "Shaymin use Magical Leaf!" Bloom shouted. Shaymin squealed and then suddenly, a wave of glowing green leaves were shot at Violet's Evee.
Oh no! Evee is headed straight for that!
Violet looked around quickly and gasped as an idea popped into her head. "Evee! Keep using Tackle and jump!" Violet saw Evee nod and jump. Evee jumped just in time, because Shaymin's Magical Leaf missed it. As Evee landed Violet said, "Evee use Sand Attack and jump again!" Evee ran around the battle field and it became covered in dust clouds. Violet heard Bloom tell Shaymin to do something as she saw Evee's shadowy figure leap up into the air. "Use Magical Leaf again Shaymin!"
Violet saw the leaves being shot at Evee and they made a direct hit. Evee squealed and fell to the ground. "C'mon Evee! You can do it buddy-- get up!" shouted Violet as the dust cleared. Evee got up and hobbled back to Violet. "Okay, use Quick Attack!" Evee hurled itself at Shaymin and sent the little Pokémon flying. Bloom gasped as Shaymin landed. "Are you ok Shaymin!?" Shaymin nodded and stood back up again. Now's our chance, Violet thought.
"Evee use Quick Attack again!" Evee ran at Shaymin again and the little Pokémon landed on it's side. Violet watched as Shaymin got up again. She felt proud that she was winning; but she also felt bad because Shaymin could only use two moves: Growth and Magical Leaf. Bloom looked worried as Shaymin got up again, it's little legs shaking. "Shaymin can you keep going?" Bloom asked quietly. Shaymin looked back at her and nodded confidently. Violet laughed as Bloom smiled back at Shaymin.
Aww their both so close! It's like Magikarp, Evee and I! And everyone else with their Pokémon, Violet thought. She was snapped out of her thought when Bloom yelled, "Shaymin use Growth!" Shaymin started to glow and after a few moments the light faded. Shaymin looked confident after it used Growth. Growth raises your special attack-- or at least on Grass Types. Violet shook her head to clear her thoughts and looked at Evee. "Ok Evee use Tackle!" Evee ran at Shaymin again but then Bloom said, "Shaymin-- Magical Leaf!" Shaymin shot the storm of green leaves at Evee but, Violet already had a plan.
"Evee dodge and jump over Shaymin!" Evee squealed in reply and dodge the leaves as many times as it could. Suddenly, it jumped over Shaymin and landed behind it. Bloom looked confused but then Violet said, "Use Quick Attack and run around Shaymin!" Shaymin looked around as Evee circled it. Ok... It's confused so I'll do it now. "Evee use Tackle!" Before Shaymin could turn again, Evee rammed into its side and Shaymin fell. "Use Quick Attack, Evee!"
Evee ran into Shaymin once more and it fell. Bloom gasped and stared at Shaymin as it stood up. Violet saw Shaymin look at Bloom and their eyes locked for a few moments. Bloom smiled and nodded and Shaymin smiled and collapsed.
Amy-- who was the referee (if you don't remember 😊) -- said, "Shaymin is unable to battle. Evee wins the match!" Violet squealed and started jumping up and down. "WE DID IT EVEE! WE DID IT!" Evee squealed and started jumping up and down too. Violet picked up Evee and twirled around as they both laughed. We won our first training battle! Violet turned around and saw Bloom cradling Shaymin in her arms. "Hey Evee," whispered Violet. "Let's go talk to Bloom and Shaymin." Evee tilted it's head and nodded. As they walked over to them Vi heard Bloom whisper something to Shaymin. "Hey great battle! Is Shaymin ok?" Bloom looked up and said, "Yeah, Shaymin's fine-- just tired. Aren't you buddy?" she said cheerfully. Shaymin squealed and nodded. They both laughed as they got up.
"Well lets go help the others fine a campsite. The sun's going down already!" Bloom said. Violet layghed and said, "Oh ok! But if we find another horrible campsite I'm running for the hills!"
