I strolled into the kitchen not surprised to find my mother glaring at me as I sat the butter down on the counter next to her.

"Here's the bloody butter!" I couldn't help but lash out on the single object after it had taken up at least an hour of my day off of school.

I walked over to where my mom had left some homemade bread, the longer I stared the longer I felt the need to eat a slice. Ah screw it I already exercised enough as it is!

"You will not believe who I spoke to today. I got to talk to our neighbors that are moving in next door to us! They actually have a young man around your age and I think you two would get along perfectly-" My mother kept rambling but honestly I stopped listening as I took a bite of the bread.

It was moist and delicious and it seemed to have an after taste but I just couldn't wrap my finger around the taste. I shrugged and took another bite, man if I kept going at this rate I'm pretty sure I would end up taking the whole loaf upstairs with me.

"I invited them over for dinner and I need you and your brother to be on your best behavior do you understand?!" My mom still had not turned around to face me, taking her time on mixing the ingredients to perfection.

"M'kay" My words ended up coming out muffled from all the bread I had managed to stuff into my mouth, I swear this was addictive! I actually don't e understand why they would leave it out in the pen for me to binge on. I mean yeah the aftertaste was a bit funky but pass that and you had my whole life on one slice of bread.

I scanned the room for something else to snack on and landed my eyes on a container filled up with gummy bears. OHH! Yummy! I rushed over to them and grabbed a handful, they were soaking in some sort of substance but it didn't seem to stop me from popping them into my mouth. Woah! They were strong I wonder what kind of company made these! I grabbed another handful and began playing with them, for some reason I couldn't control anything I was doing, it was as if my hands had a mind of their own.  After I had finished at least one third of them I decided to lay off the junk food and take a breather.

"Oh Lilith before I forget can you put the vodka gummies into the fridge?" My mom called out to me, her voice sounding distorted and distant.

I looked around for the gummies and couldn't help but feel a rush of nerves hit me all at once as I looked down at the container filled with drowning gummies. No way! I had not- well it would definitely explain the sudden rush of excitement I was feeling, and the headache that was starting to take place.

----------

Our doorbell rang through our house and considering how I was closest to the door I was left in charge of attending our guests.

I swung the door open as wide as I could and grinned at the people huddled outside, probably freezing in the 30 degree weather. "Come in! To our home! Mi casa es su casa!" I giggled at how funny my 'spanish' accent sounded.

I was greeted with a bunch of confused stares expect for one laugh coming from behind. I smiled, happy that someone else other than me found my sense of humor hilarious. They all stepped in allowing me to slam the door shut.

I ran to the kitchen to announce to my mother that our guests were here almost tripping over clumsy self. I could here the commotion from all the way here, I was actually surprised my mom hadn't already made an appearance. "Moooooom! THEYRE HERE!" I screamed out in hopes that she would get the message. I walked back to the living room to make our guests feel comfortable and at home.

Once I got there I was faced with an unbearable sight. Alex. Ugh! *barf* that AIRHEAD!

Thankfully I didn't have to suffer long as I heard my mom yell from the kitchen, "Dinner's ready!"

--------------

I took a seat next to the dude that was my age, I hadn't even tried to get his name yet! I nudged his side, managing to get his attention. "Pst!" I 'whispered'

He took a hint and leaned in so I could whisper into his ear. I leaned into him and got close enough that I could see his baby hairs on the nape of his neck. "Whats your name?" I giggled as I realized how close we were, and leaned back a little.

He only stared at me, not even bothering to answer my question leaving me confused out of my mind. I must have been showing my confusion because soon enough he was bursting out in laughter.

"I'm glad you two are getting along! In fact why don't you guys go eat in the living room?" My mother suggested as she took a took a look to the neighbors.

I nodded my head and took a stand, without thinking I grabbed a hold of his hand and lead us to the farthest couch in our living room. "You never told me your name." I pressed.

He shook his head and just kept quiet. Well he is quiet.

"Well my name is Lilith!" I gave him a huge smile and held my palm out. As expected he only wore that confused expression again.  I pushed it farther until it was right in front of his face.

He seemed to think twice before placing his palm on top of mine. We both smiled at each other before my giggles gave out and I had to take my hadn back.

I stared back at him, I knew I had seen him before but I just couldn't remember where from. "What is your nameee!?" I whined hoping it would help.

"My name is Nick" He said with a grin.
