You had known the boys for a few years, and you trusted them with your life. It had been in their hands on more than a few occasions, but they were your surrogate family. You always loved the drives between cases. That is, if the brothers weren't fighting and sitting in uncomfortable silence.

You would sometimes sing along to the classics with Dean, and other times you were right there with Sam telling Dean to turn down the music. Sometimes you were ready to shoot first, ask questions later, and other times you were the level-headed one. You were the perfect medium for the boys.

You could read them like a book, and you had read them so many times. They were different each time you did too. You loved to see how the brothers grew and learned, and they liked seeing you grow and change as well. You were so proud of them, and they felt the same about you. You knew that if anything were to happen to them, you would die, or sell your soul to fix whatever crap they got into.

You remember one time, you had been so nervous. The boys had been captured by the nest of vampires you'd been hunting. It was one of your first hunts and you had been assigned research. When they hadn't come back, you knew something had or was happening and you couldn't just sit there.

You had "borrowed" a car and went to where you thought the nest might be. You knew that the vamps would be asleep in the day, and that would have been the ideal time to attack, but you didn't think that Sam and Dean had that kind of time. So you put all of the wisdom Dean, Sam, and Bobby had taught you to work, and saved their asses.

In reality, you tried to sneak in and get them untied before you were noticed, but that plan failed horribly. You practically handled the entire nest on your own. When the last head had been chopped off, you were finally able to untie the brothers. And instead of thanking you, they just stared at you for a good ten minutes. After that, they always took you on vamp hunts.

You usually thought of good memories like that in the car. You would listen to stories of hunts from long before you met the Winchesters. You laughed, you were shocked, and even though you had the bunker, you really considered that 1967 Chevrolet Impala your home. You felt safe in Baby. Dean knew how much you loved the car, and even let you drive it. That day was when you really knew you were an honorary Winchester.

It was a rainy Wednesday in June. You and the boys were in-between cases, and had run out of beer. You had offered to get it in one of the low-profile cars you had picked up, but Dean just threw you the keys and said, "If you get one scratch on Baby, you're dead." You had returned half an hour later with not only beer, but pie for Dean and salad for Sam too. That night you just lounged around and watched movies.

Sometimes you would discuss movies and their actors when you were really bored on a drive. You've had to be a tie-breaker for more than one stupid argument, but it was kind of funny watching them debate over fictional characters, plots, subtext, and other things.

Sometimes after a hard hunt, you would just sit in the backseat, look out the window, and listen to the boys talk. Even if it was hell on Earth, that car and those drives were your little slice of heaven. You loved the stories that were made in her, the stories that were still to come. The little things that others might call faults, you called personality. And you wouldn't have her any other way.

Even if someday she'll be rotting away in an old scrapyard, that beautiful car will always have a place in your heart.
