It was starting to get colder again. It was most notable when you returned from a hunt in Georgia. Yes, both you and the Winchesters always wore plenty of layers, but you could still feel the biting wind at your back as you walked to the bunker's main door.

Once inside, you shivered and smiled, happy to be back home where it was warm and cozy. But as you looked around the bunker you realized how few holiday decorations you really had. Sure, none of you were really religious, but that didn't mean you couldn't get into the season's messages of hope and giving.

Sam and Dean decided to go straight to their rooms and sleep after the long drive, but you were thinking of how you could make the bunker a bit merrier this season. You decided to look through the records to see if you could find something that could adorn the Bat Cave with cheer. You found a few candidates that could be some ancient decorations and went to investigate.

You found a fake tree falling apart in one room, and some simple spherical ornaments in another. The last room was full of candles. You grabbed the ornaments and candles before heading back to the library. You knew you would have to go shopping if you wanted to make this place cheerful.

Slipping on your coat, you left a note for the boys and grabbed the keys to your car. Your car was mostly used for errands, while Baby was the badass hunting machine. You headed to the closest craft store and bought some artificial garlands and ornaments. You ended up asking one of the clerks if they carried lights, but were told they were sold out.

Trekking on to Walmart you saw that there were only three packages of lights left, so you grabbed them all before heading to the grocery section and loading up on all the food needed for a proper holiday meal. You also grabbed some tacky sweaters for the boys, Castiel, and yourself, along with a few other surprises.

You checked out and hurried back to the bunker to get to work. The boys were still asleep when you returned, so you unpacked your groceries and put the roast in a marinade before getting a game plan on how you were going to accomplish your plan. You started by hanging the garland across the library's shelves.

Admittedly, it would have been easier with Sam's Sasquatch height, but you wanted it to be a surprise, so you got by with just a ladder. Then you hung some of the ornaments you found along the garland.

Stepping back, you admired your work and smiled. You had already unboxed the lights and were wondering how you were going to incorporate them when you heard a shuffling in the kitchen. You walked in to see Dean looking at all of your cooking supplies confusedly. He turned to you questioningly. "It's for a holiday meal, so don't go snacking on my ingredients," you replied.

Dean just shrugged before grabbing a bag of chips and slinking back to his room. You returned to the library to see Castiel looking at the lights. When he touched them, they sparkled as they came to life and he looked at them in wonder. You smiled and moved to stand next to him. "They're very pretty," Cas commented.
You nodded, "Do you want to help me set them up?" He looked at you in surprise. "It's not that hard, plus you can help me decide where to put them."
