The weeks following the night I gave into my carnal desires, I would find a gift left by Klaus in my bedroom. It was his attempt to coax me into forgiving him and though, I was flattered by the gifts, but I still couldn't forgive him. Not yet.

Since my return, I had dropped by Cami's apartment to see my friend. She was happy to see me as I was to see her. I had told her of my confrontation with Klaus and confided to her my true feelings towards him, she listened as both my friend and a therapist. She even told me that even while I suffered in the Bayou, he still talked about me with her. This didn't surprise me, I knew he would talk about me to her, seeing as he couldn't very well talk to Elijah or Rebekah. The brothers weren't exactly getting along and Rebekah had left town after I was cursed to find a way to bring back Kol.

I had spent many days just talking with her in her apartment, I had to admit that it was nice to talk to someone who would listen to my troubles without judgement. She was really the only person I could talk to, besides Jackson.

It was Halloween again in the French Quarter and while I was getting Hope dressed and ready to stay with her uncle across the street, I opened my wardrobe and found a new dress hanging up with the rest of my clothes. I knew it was new because I'd never seen it before and there was a note attached to it.

I glanced at the dress in confusion before reading the note. It was from Klaus, I rolled my eyes before walking back into the nursery. I picked up Hope and smiled at her.

"Your daddy just doesn't give up, does he?"

She smiled and made the cutest noise, which made me laugh.

When I knocked on the door of the apartment, the door opened instantly and I frowned when I saw Hayley.

"Hey," she said.

"Is Jackson here?" I asked without greeting her.

"Yeah," she turned her head to call her husband. "Jack!"

I stood outside and waited because I haven't been invited in, Jackson would have invited me in but I don't think Hayley wanted me to be able to walk in whenever I wanted. Obviously, she hasn't forgiven me for what I did to the pack and that's fine with me. I didn't really care what she thought of me, not anymore.

"Hey!" Jackson smiled when he saw us.

I smiled as Hope reached her little arms up towards her uncle and he picked up his niece. It was nice to see that, despite the circumstances, we could still make this family thing work.

"Okay, so she's been changed and fed," I told him. "So you don't need to worry about that for awhile."

"We'll be just fine, won't we, darling?" Jackson said, talking to me and his niece.

"Okay," I smiled, holding my daughter's hand over the threshold. "Mama will see you later. Have fun with uncle Jack. I love you, baby girl."

Hope squealed as I let her hand go and took a step back before walking back to the compound.

When I entered the courtyard, I saw someone I didn't recognize standing there.

"Can I help you?" I asked.

"I have an invitation for Mr. Mikaelson," he told me.

I looked at the card he was holding and saw that it was addressed to Elijah. I looked back at the vampire and smiled.

"I'll take it to him, thank you."

As soon as I touched the invite, the vampire disappeared. I furrowed my brows in confusion as I read it.
