Ungyal raised his voice. Many agreed with him that they would have to leave Niburu, and the most likely candidate planet was Earth. Earth was inhabited mainly by human beings, the most recent version being the one created just tens of thousands of years ago by Enki, the Chief Genetic Engineer at the time. Enki had retired from genetic engineering long ago--- preferring to spend most of his time advocating on behalf of humanity, always to a full crowd. The remainer was spent drafting up his own complicated solutions to Niburu's atmospheric weaknesses. It was due to much hard work on Enki's part that Niburu was still inhabitable, though a long term solution had not yet been found, no matter how much effort he put into it. Even Enki was unsure that a solution which allowed the Annunaki to remain on their home planet would be found. And for Enki himself, time might be running out. He had already exceeded the average Annunaki lifespan, and was only a thousand years away from the time when all Annunaki must pass on regardless of health...as decreed by The Council.
Nevertheless, it was rumoured that Enki's great popularity and renown might allow him another thousand years, but that was far from certain. What was well known, was that Enki had access to some of the best technology of Annunaki invention, and that he had succeeded in keeping himself healthy and strong, though perhaps not quite as vigorous as younger Annunaki, or those who consumed the dragon blood contained in human flesh.
As in the beginning, the most recent adaptation of Man had been created to be slaves, this time to the Annunaki, to mine the gold they needed to fuel their spaceships and to provide another layer to help stabilize their atmosphere. The humans had long ago revolted against the Annunaki and the Draco at Abydos in Egypt.
But that victory was long since forgotten by most; and it had been erased from whatever history books the Annunaki could find it in. Erasing the idea that humans had the capacity to revolt and succeed was one of the chief reasons they often instigated book burnings, and people burnings. The knowledge could not be allowed to survive. To allow that knowledge to survive, to allow the people to know everything about their history might enable them to discover the Annunaki amongst them and revolt again, leaving the Annunaki without their valuable Earth colony...and many now felt, without a world to call home.
The Annunaki may have succeeded in burying the knowledge. However, what they could not erase from the human consciousness was the deep-seated fear most humans now displayed when they even thought about the large reptilian forms belonging to the Annunaki and the Draco. The Draco was much more feared, as few Draco resisted the temptation to take part in human flesh and blood, whilst many more among the Annunaki held out a prohibition against doing so. After all, they had given Life to these creatures imbued with Annunaki blood. And Enki's arguments had been very persuasive to many.
They channeled their predatory yearnings and their desire for blood and flesh foods onto other creatures, as they were, after all, highly carnivorous creatures, regardless of their desire for peaceful lives. Many Annunaki, listening to Enki's frequent speeches, which he still made, despite The Council's plans, had vowed never to taste human flesh and blood, regardless how hungry they might be.Then, they could not develop a taste for the creatures they had been persuaded it was their moral obligation to guide and protect. These Annunaki eagerly followed the Count of Ludlum's every move and cheered every time he, (a very well-disguised and relatively human-friendly Annunaki) succeeded in crafting a deal that would protect the rainforests of Earth a little longer. They were all in favor of Earth remaining a suitable home for humanity and the other animals created by the dragons of old.
For this reason, they favored a vastly more expensive and complicated plan to move the majority of Annunaki to another planet inhabited by species much more distantly related to the Annunaki, allowing only a few Annunaki to remain on the planet to continue governing the humans in a wise and benevolent manner. Some even wanted to break the alliance, and drive the Draco off the human's home planet as well--- with warfare if necessary. They even favored giving humans their full, unadulterated freedom...once they had proven themselves capable of self-governance.
