-A Week later

Today was my birthday and I'm 29. I'm getting up in age. I woke up to an empty bed, wondering where is Chris. I went on and got dressed. And went and got the kids up and picked out their clothes while they were taking their baths. My parents were home now so I was on my own. I went downstairs to cook breakfast. And still didn't see any Chris. I wasn't going to worry because he probably just went into work early. The kids finally came down dressed and ate with me. And to my surprise they remembered my birthday.

"Happy birthday mommy!" They all screamed while hugging and kissing me. They finished their breakfasts and we all got into the car.

I dropped off all the kids to school and made it to the hospital. As I got off the elevator on my floor I was hit with balloons and confetti.

"Happy birthday!" Everyone screamed.

"Awww thank you everyone. That's sweet!"

I saw Lexi and Miami step out of the crowd and follow me to my office. I knew they had something to do with it.

"Happy birthday!" They both told me while hugging me.

"Thanks guy's", I said feeling a little down.

"What's wrong?" Lexi asked

"Chris wasn't home this morning and he didn't even tell me Happy Birthday." I said getting emotional.

"It's ok, he's probably out getting you some surprise present." Miami said.

I nodded,"Yeah your probably right." I said feeling a little better.

"Ok how about I pick the kids up and they can stay with me tonight to give you and Chris some alone time?" Lexi offered.

I like that idea,"Sure, that'll be great!"

After the day was over I went home to see Chris's car in the driveway. I walked in the house and didn't see him in the living room so I went up to our room. Still didn't see him. I walked around and went into his office, and wasn't there. I even called his name and I didn't get an answer. I just started to think that maybe he's just not here. I walked into the kitchen to find Christopher sitting at the kitchen table with a glass of wine and divorce papers.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"You were right,I think we shouldn't be together. I think it's best if we got a divorce,Teanna." He said staring down at the table.

" ..........Wow I can't even get a Happy Birthday. Are you serious? I thought we was working things out? I thought everything was fine! You said everything was fine!" I cried out. I sat in the chair across from him.

"You can keep everything, I just want the papers signed."

I laughed and grabbed the papers, "You can keep all your shit. I'm moving out with my kids. Remember that I don't need you or anyone!" I said signing my name and getting up and walking out the front door for good.
