The Truth about Merlin

The body lay on the ground unconscious and Merlin wasn't sure if that was a good thing or not. At least they can't freak out, he thought. He slowly walked over to have a closer look at the person. She had long brown hair which was tied back and looked as though she worked in the kitchen. He knelt down beside her and shook her slightly. Is she dead, he immediately thought and he began to panic. He remembered how she fell and it replayed in his mind. Please don't be dead, he thought. His hands trembled as he carefully lifted her head up to check for any signs of head injury. She looked fine. Then he felt her breath against his face and he breathed a sigh of relief and wiped his eyes. She's ok, he smiled. He was about to pick her up to take her to Gaius when a thought struck him. What if she saw my magic? She could expose me and the King can't deny it, he knows she's telling the truth. He brushed a hand through his dark hair and stared down the empty corridor. Kill her, a voice echoed inside his head. It would solve everything and he wouldn't have to explain himself when she gained consciousness. His hand moved slightly but then he stopped still. He couldn't believe what he was thinking and he tried to shake the thought away but it was useless. It seemed like the right option but deep down, he knew it was wrong. He moved his hand again and this time it made it to the girl's face. He covered her mouth and nose and tears built up in his eyes. "No" he whispered and he flicked his hand out of the way.
"Merlin" a voiced called down the hallway. "What are you doing?" Merlin's eyes widened at the sound of Arthur's voice and all of his attention turned to him. How much did he see, he thought to himself but he didn't want to know the answer.
"Arthur come quick" Merlin shouted and he scooped the girl off the floor.
"What's wrong with her?" Arthur asked after running towards them.
"I don't know I found her like this" Merlin lied. "We need to get her to Gaius."
"Ok pass her to me. After all I am the stronger one" Arthur joked and Merlin faked a smile. Maybe he didn't see anything, Merlin thought. Good. Merlin looked up and watched Arthur walk away...with the girl. That girl should be dead, Merlin thought and was immediately shocked by this.
