Chapter 26:

Catherine's POV:

My eyes peel open, and I sigh when I see Eleanor and Louis standing in front of me.

"Just leave me alone."

"Catherine, we're so sorry-" Eleanor begins, but I stop her.

"No, you don't get to apologize. You lied to me!"

"We meant well! We had to watch you, and make sure you were okay." Louis lip quivers.

"But, I'm not okay! I'm anything but okay, Louis!" I cry, my whole body shaking.

"I-I'm sorry. We just had to stay under Zayn's radar." Eleanor tries to explain, but I'm too angry.

"Leave, please."

"Catherine-"

"Go!" I yell, in anger.

I didn't want them here. They betrayed and lied to me!

Louis nods, tears running down his cheeks, "Okay. If that's what you want."

"It is."

My reply makes him flinch, "As you wish, baby girl. We love you, remember that."

I don't reply, but they leave.

As soon as they leave, Vincent shows up, "Why so sad, darling?"

I shrug, "What's it to you?"

"Everything." He smiles.

"Were you the one who put Zayn's powers on pause, so the ECT would happen?" I get right to the point.

"Yes, it was. But I'm sorry I did so. I was so angry at Zayn. And you mean the world to him."

I nod, "Okay."

"Are you mad?"

"No, just tired really."

A few hours later, my door opens, and in comes in the new guard—Nathan. "I was assigned to come give you breakfast, is that okay?"

"Yes." I agree, nodding.

He comes in, and sets down my food, "How are you holding up?"

"Shitty."

He laughs, "I'm sorry to hear that."
