The boy wore a loose and ragged black shirt and black torn trousers. His chocolate brown hair messed up and unkempt. His bangs were long and covered a few his eyes which were dark blue. He had a lean and skinny figure, most probably because he rarely takes a bite of the food sitting in his mini fridge. He had distinct cheekbones and an angular jaw, his skin was pale just like how it was like since he was a child.
His name was Aspen, just Aspen for his last name was long lost in the past. He sighed as he looked at the mess in front of him. The numerous piles and stacks of papers, papers, and more papers. They all had important data on them that were typed out and printed to look at.
"This better be worth it," He mumbled as he leaned forward in his chair, ready to tackle the mess on the table. This is his lab and only home. Now, his lab was not like those labs you see in movies with bright lights, white walls and white tables with those flasks, tubes, whatsoever. No, his lab was not. It was one that was kept away from the busy society. Like an outcast student in school. It was, in reality, a small house near the garbage dump. Exactly where he wanted it to be. After all, the garbage dump is the world's biggest place for spare parts.
Why would he need these parts? He uses them to make everything he needs. From phones to computers. Everything. His phone is, as a matter of fact, made and customized by himself. It looked like a normal IPhone, but could do so much more than just the normal touchscreen device we are familiar with. So much, that if I was to list them here, it would be 2 pages long.
What does he need this little lab for? He has been working on his greatest project. Well, it happens to be his only project he has worked forever. He has been working at it for at most 10 years by now. The project is near completion. He just had to type in a few more codes in and Ta-Da. His project is complete.
What exactly is this project you ask? He has created an app. What this app does is, brainwash people.
How? This app is supposedly a video game. Once a person clicks on the app, a window will open and it will say 'Please keep your eyes on the screen for the full effect' and then there will be a swirl of colors. All you have to do is to look at the screen for 5 seconds and your brain will be enslaved. Their brains will then be forced to obey his orders.
How does Aspen send his orders? By using the app of course. For those people did not install the app, they will not see any difference from those who do because they will act normal.
Since not many adults play video games, how to get them brainwashed, Aspen has an alternative. If a kid installs the app, the kid will get brainwashed. Then, he or she would influence his or her friends to play the game and the kids will receive an email to collect a chip inserting device. The kids the insert the chips in their parent's hands, in the space between the index finger and thumb. The chip will link to the brain and will have the same effect as the swirly colors. The parents will then insert the chip into their colleague's hands, friends' hands and so on.
After some time, all of the world population will be his slaves. He would make them all suffer. No one would be able to escape his clutches! Aspen cue-d the evil laughter in his head as he continued working on his laptop to launch the application. He walked towards his bed and plopped himself on it as he started working on his application with a smirk. After 10 minutes, he was done and ready to launch. He took out my watch and placed it next to him so that he will know the exact time, in seconds, when he would finally get his revenge.
"I am going to launch it in 3....2....1....and the time is exactly 5.34 pm, 43 seconds," He said out loud dramatically as he pressed the launch button and wrote it down on in his book. "Now all I have to do is wait until the people in the worlds slowly one by one come into my command and I will RULE OVER THE WORLD. MUAHAHAHAHA"
He laid down on the bed and played some music in the background, ready to take some well-deserved rest when that happened. He was about to close his eyes when that happened. Something that changed his life happened.
'You have an email!' His laptop beeped as it continued repeating it again and again for 20 seconds until it stopped. "Why did I even put that setting in? Because my brain hates me. Who am I kidding, the whole world hates me" Aspen mumbled as he sat up and leaned towards his laptop on his bed. He scrolled through his laptop and clicked the newly received email.

That's right. Here in the future, you can receive items through emails. Your laptop will be connected to a teleporter which connects to the item which you will be receiving. All you have to do is click the 'here' button and the teleporter connected to the laptop will transport the item. The sad thing is that the teleporter is not safe for living things so humans cannot transport from one place to another.
He clicked the button and waited for the item to be teleported. He looked at his teleporter to light up showing that the teleportation is in progress but nothing happened. He stared at the teleporter confused, and then back to his laptop to see if anything was wrong and got even more confused. There, his screen was black and there was one single word written. 'DOWNLOADING...'
This cannot be happening. It was true that you can only send a visible object through the email, but if you ever want to send an app or something, you will have to use other ways.
The only way this was possible was if the thing downloading was a virus. Aspen started a panic and tried to click the 'cancel' button, but nothing happened. Then, the screen grabbed his attention when it flashed a bright white light.
"Hello, Aspen!" Was a high pitched voice coming from the laptop. A small pixelated girl was waving at Aspen with a smile.
