New Band, New Start

Chapter Seven

Roses POV:

I wake up and head straight to the bathroom to get changed and get ready for the day, after that I walked down stairs and sat at the table and talked to Stormie while she was making breakfast for all of us. We talked about how I feel about LA so far and what we are going to do in Colorado, I also said how excited I was to spend Christmas with them. Stormie made pancakes for us with maple syrup and fruit salad on the side, just as Stormie put my plate of pancakes and a bowl of fruit salad in front of me Riker and Rydel walked down the stairs and joined me at the table. Stormie placed the same food in front of Rydel and Riker as she put in front of me, she also put a glass of water in front of me. We ate breakfast and then headed into the living room to talk, everyone else had come down and had already eaten breakfast so they joined our conversation. We were talking about what they do in Colorado over Christmas, Riker let me know that they want to take me ice-skating and then went into lots of detail about ice skating and ice hockey. I zoned out of the conversation, I started thinking about my family and everyone at home, I didn't realise  was tearing up until Riker rubbed my shoulder asking whether I was okay.

"Uh, yeah I am fine I just miss my family back home." I reply sniffling back my tears.

"It must be hard for you, being so far away from home at this time of year. This is the time where family comes together and rejoices and celebrates being together. We are all here to make you feel comfortable and we are doing our best to make you feel like you have a family here too. I am always here if you want to talk about anything." Riker explains.

"Thanks Riker, you have been like a big brother to me ever since I came here and even before I landed. I would like to thank you for that I appreciate it so much, I was so nervous to come out here at this time of year but you guys have welcomed me into your home with open arms." I say thankfully.

"It's alright Rose, that's what I am here for. Do you need any help packing your stuff again, I think Rydel has picked out some winter clothes for you and left them on your bed for you." Riker asked.

"That would be great thanks Riker, if you haven't packed your stuff already I will help you if you want. Thanks for letting me know about the clothes from Rydel." I answer.

"It's alright Rose, as I said I am always here if you want anything. If you could help me pack my stuff, that would be great we can continue to get to know each other a little bit more and you can tell me about your family back home." Riker says with a  smile on his face.

We headed upstairs and into the room that Rydel and I are sharing, I grab the clothes off of my bed while Riker grabs my suitcase from under the bed. Riker begins to pack the winter clothes that Rydel has lent me, I head into the closet and grab the basic things I will need such as undies and bras etc. I packed my black high top converse as well as my boots. I packed the rest of my clothes, leaving out my clothes for when we leave for Colorado tomorrow. I left my leggings, a plain white baggy t-shirt, my white low-cut converse. Just as I started looking for another sweatshirt Stormie walked in and gave me my smile jersey back.

"Here is your jersey Rose, I have washed it for you." Stormie said as she handed me my jersey.

"Thanks Stormie." I reply.

I add my smile jumper to the pile of clothes I am wearing tomorrow for our trip. After Stormie had left both Riker and I had finished packing my bag so we headed to Riker and Rocky's room to pack Riker's bag.

Once we had finished packing Riker's bag we grabbed our suitcases and headed downstairs to join everyone else. Once we got downstairs we walked into the living room to join everyone else, everyone was watching Annabelle, I guess that was Rocky's choice, I sat down on an empty sofa and cuddled up into my blanket. Riker came into the living room after talking to Stormie and getting all the information about our trip tomorrow, he came and sat next to me, I messaged my mum updating her on how I am and we organised to Skype later tonight.

The movie got too scary so I decided to go up to my room and skype my mum and dad. Once I get into my room I grab my MacBook out of my country road bag and turn it on. I Facebook message my mum letting her know that I will Skype her in a couple of minutes, once I have logged into Skype I video chat my mum.

In the middle of my conversation with my mum I hear the door open, I look behind me to see Riker walk in. He sits next to me and starts talking to my mum.
