I woke up in an alley way again. But this time there were no Russian looking guys with guns. Which I thought was good. Maybe I'd imagine the whole Cora/Russian Mob/creepy telepathy thing. But when I tried to stand up, I immediately fell down doubling over in pain. Only then did I notice the gunshot wound. The smell of my blood was intoxicating, it almost made me want to puke but I held down.
"How long was I out...?" I said faintly.
Trying not to pass out again. Though it seemed like a really good idea right about now.Like thirty seconds
"Really? Where is everyone?"
I have no clue...before you passed out, there was this bright light and then everyone just disappeared, like in thin air....it was so weird
I didn't think anything could get more weirder than me being God knows where, with a dead person talking to me.
"So, what now then...did I fail?" At this point I didn't really care, I just wanted to get home.
Um no, Rheya you're like ten feet away from the orb
"Well, that's convenient..." I stared ahead of me. And sure, enough there was the orb, just a few feet away. But I didn't move. I just sat there. Cora wasn't as patient with me though.
Well...just don't sit there like a lazy ass! Get up and move.
I rolled my eyes and sighed, "You know some of us got shot, and don't have the strength to actually walk."
Well then crawl, or limp, OR DO SOMETHING! We-I mean you're nearly there, let's just finish this thing and get it over with!"
I didn't say anything, just sat there, eyes closed, taking short breaths, in and out, in and out.
MOVE NOW! OR THOSE CREEPY ASS AWKWARD LOOKING GUYS ARE GOING TO COME BACK AND FINISH OFF YOUR ASS!
When she said that my eyes snapped open and frantically searched the alley. Nothing showed signs of life as my eyes raked up and down the road. When I was satisfied enough to realize nothing or no one was after me, I hopped up onto one foot and made my way toward the orb. The pain shooting through my leg was enough to make me fall and scream out a line of curse words. I took a deep breath and stood up again, holding back the scream that was stuck in my throat and limped my way to the orb again without falling.♦♦♦
As I stood in front of the orb I sighed with relief. I reached out in front of me and touched the orb. I immediately regretted it because seconds after touching it, I fell. It was a short fall but as soon as I landed the scream erupted from me. I was almost sure that I broke my leg. And I was almost definitely sure that I was dying, and if not that I wished I were dying. But even as I was screaming bloody murder, I was able to get a glimpse of where I had landed. There were trees full of fruit and jewels, small buildings that were shining as bright as torches, and one great big building that looked almost like a castle. It shone as brightly as the sun. Staring at it didn't seem to hurt my eyes. The only pain I was aware of was the one in my leg and head. And if I wasn't screaming or in excruciating pain, I would've been shocked at how perfectly clean and beautiful this place was. In the distance you could see a waterfall that didn't seem to start anywhere or fall into anything. Everything here was so beautiful but odd and the last thing I saw, before the black dots clouded my entire vision, was a man standing I front of me, staring, in a robe of black. And those were the only details I could make out before I couldn't see anything.
