I stared into her bright, shining eyes before planting a small kiss on her lips.
"I love you" I said. I did. Everything about Janna was just perfect. She was all I ever wanted. The one I was going to protect. Forever.
As the words left my mouth, doubt and sadness filled her eyes for a moment, and then it was gone. But I'd seen. Did she know something I didn't? Was there something he wasn't telling me?
"You alright babe?" I asked.
"Of course" she said with a smile, "why wouldn't I be?"
"Then lets go!" I said and, taking her long, slender hand in mine, we walked to the car.
I opened the passenger door and helped her and her dress inside, then slowly closed it behind her. As I walked around the front of the car, I saw her staring at her phone screen, the sadness again appearing on her face. A silent tear rolled down her cheek.
Reaching my door, I opened it, ready to comfort her, to let her cry on my shoulder for whatever reason it was. But se was quick to wipe the tear away and smile that beautiful smile at me again. I almost forgot why I'd just seen. Almost.
"Ready?" She asked. I revved the engine, smiled at her, and we were off.
