The fireworks display only lasted about an hour or two only so me and Joaquin decided to go home already.
We were on our way down when I suddenly stopped from my tracks, and that was noticed by Joaquin... "uhm.. is there something wrong?" He asked me as I slowly looked up to meet his gaze.
"Where was Stephanie?" I asked with a curious tone yet I still forced a smile to form.on my face. He was taken a back by my sudden question.
I watched him carefully and read his reaction.... sweating yet it's not that hot, scratching the back of his neck........ his nervous.
"Why are you acting nervous J?" I asked him with a curious look on my eyes. He straightened himself and cleared his throat then responded with a "what are you talking about? I'm not nervous."
I can clearly tell that he is lying already. I tried to not snort but failed which earned me a glare by Joaquin.
"What...? You don't expect me to believe that now won't you?" I asked as a response from his glare. I took a deep breath then said "tell me now." I spoke with authority and seriousness in my voice. He clearly understand that I'm not joking anymore.
He gave me one last sigh of defeat "okay... but don't ask anymore questions about why okay?" I arched a brow and nodded in agreement.
"Okay..... so me and Steph just broke up...... don't ask me why!" He said rather runt as I would call it. I stared with wide eye.... 'I can't believe..... wait what??!!'
"What?! Whh?!" I shouted at him. He grunted "I told you no questions! " I grunt in response. "Why not?! and you just can't leave me hanging now!!" I argued for a moment and realized I wasn't going to win.
So I decided to just let it go.. but "your not telling me something.... your mouth tells me I shouldn't care but your eyes tells me otherwise."
He looked at me with pure shock in his eyes like he was not expecting that as my reply. "Maybe one day" he said softly for me to hear just enough.
And with that he started to walk again leaving me there standing.... a lot of things were running inside my mind now.
Like 'why did they broke up?' Something like that. But I still continued to follow him until we arrived at our house.
