Another World

Chapter 1

The sun was shining bright and the birds were singing a happy song, at this moment I am walking along the sidewalk while listening to the peaceful sound of our subdivision here at Lagro. I am heading towards my part time job at a coffee shop near my apartment.

As I entered the store I noticed that my co-worker Nica packing up and ready to go home since her shift was already done. I scanned the store and there isn't any costumer yet so I decided to get my uniform and get dressed. When I went to my room for the employees and headed straight to my locker, I opened the door I didn't saw my uniform inside instead a paper bag with a note..... it read:
'As a punishment for being late last time this wil be your uniform for today hope you like it though'
I crumpled the paper and tossed it away somewhere and I opened the paper bag and my eyes went wide and my jaw dropped.

'This can't be happening to me'..... I thought to myself as I felt someone tapped my shoulder, I turn around to see a Nica wearing the most wicked smirk I have ever seen since that Christmas party at the plaza, when she forced me to wear a super girly santa outfit.
"Don't worry girl..... you'll do great and I'm sure you'll get more attention in that" Nica told me as she grabbed the paper bag and opened it to grab the maid outfit inside..... I gave her I-am-not-going-to-wear-that look then she started to lift up the costume and swing it left to right in front of my face.

I felt my face getting hotter every second, then I grabbed it harshly away from her grasp and I went to the changing room to change already even though this is against my will.

I have to do it since I owe her a huge favor...... moments later I stepped out of the changing room and I started to regret my decision about wearing this maid outfit it barely covered my legs since its an inch above my knee.

I began to feel embarrassed about this one then I heard Nica laughed and I also heard clicking sounds of a camera and I started to panic and run to hide myself because I knew it was Nica taking pictures of me again because she said it was a souvenir!

I went behind the counter as I prepared myself for the first costumer to come, Nica already said good bye to me and she stepped out of the store and head straight home. Now I am currently cleaning the counter but I accidentally dropped the white rag I was using, I bent down to pick it up when I suddenly heard the store bell rang informing me that someone just entered the store.... my first costumer and I felt myself tensed up since I am embarrassed about what I am currently wearing.

I got up but I wasn't facing the costumer yet and I started brushing off the invisible dusts and I also straightened my uniform.... I took a deep breath as I turned around with a smile on my face, but that smile quickly vanished because all what I wanted now was that the floor should open up and eat me whole! Because the person who was standing in front of me was no other than Joaquin my best friend/classmate, and he stared at me with shock on his face then it turned into a smile that could melt a whole block of ice.

I panicked for a second as I started to turn left to right looking for somewhere to hide but I failed. I turned to face him and his smile only grew larger as he eyed me from head to toe and I felt really embarrassed now like super!!
Even though he was my best friend he didn't know about this.... me working part time at a coffee shop he frowned then brushed it off like it was nothing because I know he understands me..... "I would like to have a... strawberry cake and a black coffee.... and that's to be served by a cute little person wearing a cute little maid outfit" he said cutting me out of my thoughts.

Everything he just said, went deep inside my head moments later and I started to realize what he just said, then I started to turned like a tomato..... I went to the kitchen to get his order, then I returned with my hands full after a minute or two "here is your order... I hope you choked on it and die slowly" I said while giving him his order and I smiled, and I saw him flinched then he giggled...... I feel my cheeks burning again when I heard him giggle, ugh.. cause he has the damn most amazing giggle I have ever heard!

I tried to look away hoping that Joaquin didn't noticed the blush that appeared on my stupid looking face..... I think it worked cause I noticed him from the corner of my eye walking away and I turn around to see that he sat on an empty table near the glass window, I took a quick glance at him as he started to eat.

Minutes turned to hours and I started to clean the counter when I suddenly felt something uncomfortable..... like I'm being watched, I felt like someone was trying to burn a hole in my back and so I decided to turn around just to see a smirking Joaquin eating a strawberry cake while he is looking at me intently. I glared at him and he slightly flinched noticing how the way he was looking at me.

He gave me wink as he started to stand up, 'why is he looking at me and doesn't he have a class later and I think he should go.... I mean now!'  I got cut off from my thought when I felt something warm and rough holding my left hand that was holding a cookbook..... I flinched.

I looked up and stared at the person who was holding my hand and it was... well Joaquin, and I started to turn fifty shades of red when I noticed the look in both of his eyes. It's like it is saying two different statements without him saying a single word, and I think I just saw a look of curiosity, but then I got pushed out of my thoughts when I felt a pair of warm lips brushing against the back of my palm. The cookbook fell on the counter table and I quickly jerked my hand away from his lips as we stared at each other.

Then a sudden burst of laughter erupted from Joaquin and I started to get furious and anger consumed me..... 'how dare him kissed the back of my hand!' I thought as I subconsciously grabbed the cookbook with my other hand and I smacked him hard in his head, as he laughed uncontrollably while he clutched his left hand on his head from where I just hit him and his right hand holding his stomach.

I gave him an annoyed look and soon he started to calm down wiping away some invisible tears from the corner of his eye. "You should have seen the look on your face ahahaha......!!" He stated and continued to laugh. Soon he stopped and I just smiled at him but I still feel like hitting him with that huge cookbook again.

Now he looked serious to me and he gave me a heart warming smile then Joaquin reached for his pocket and payed me for what he ordered. He started to walk towards the exit and with a one last look he gave me a wave and said "see you later princess" and I cursed at him and he proceeded his way out.

I watched his silhouette disappear as he walk far away from the store..... and as soon as I am sure that he is no longer at sight I leaned against the wall and I sank in the ground, I buried my head between my arms  and I started sobbing softly..... and I felt a warm liquid dripping down my cheeks and I wiped them away.... 'gosh I'm really stupid am I?' ...... ''my heart is being shattered, what are we supposed to be, I'm helplessly addicted to you....but I guess you'll never feel the same as I do' I thought to myself and I started saying these words repeatedly to myself.............................................

"YOU CAN'T FALL IN LOVE WITH YOU BEST FRIEND"
